[There's a very, very tall man on your video today, Asgard. A man in a bright purple suit, and sunglasses even though there's no sun to be seen, what with the oncoming winter weather.]

Yeah, so I don't do this often, the posting thing, I mean, but I felt like something needed to be said.

[And he holds up his clasped hands, opening them slightly- inside them is a colorless butterfly, flapping it's wings feebly.]

Since it's pretty much a given we are going to be stuck here for a while long, possibly forever because life hates us, I've figured I ought to do something with my time about the insect population, considering winter's coming and all.

That's right, insects. Because at least these things are way more deserving of my help than humans are. So, here's the deal! I'm going to be creating one of those...what are they called, butterfly houses? And you bring me any butterflies or moths you have hanging around your place. Consider it a nice little donation to the cause, alright? And I don't know, I'll do something like not insult you for 24 hours. That's a pretty good deal, take advantage of it.

[A pause as he frowns at the camera.]

However...if you bring me any dead butterflies or moths, I'll seriously punch you in the face. They have to be alive. Don't test me, okay?

And if anyone actually knows how to create a butterfly house in the first place, that would be kind of helpful too.

Some butterflies would migrate, but considering this entire place is on the same plain, fat chance they've got if they try to fly anywhere.

And butterflies don't really hibernate too, so to answer your question, this type of insect got the short end of the stick when it comes to this.

But they shouldn't exist here at all if they have no mechanism at all to defend themselves. They've been here longer than us, after all.

Well, news flash, there are something called cycles. Like what cicadas have: they come, they get destroyed, killed, die, eaten, whatnot, and in a year or so they all come back.

It's not about defense. It's about establishing your progeny to survive for the next generation. I mean, think about it, you don't see butterflies during winter, and yet they all pop back up in spring like they never left. Why do you think that is?

I'm giving them a better chance. They escape the cold, they'll have longer to live and a better chance at increasing the butterfly population for years to come.

It sounds like you'll be preventing them from evolving better defensive mechanisms against situations like this. Perhaps a short-term benefit, but after all, you don't expect to be here so long as to steward them indefinitely, I presume.

Ah, well, in any case, though, it's a nice gesture.

Oh, right, became I'll be here for a hundred more years in order to guide their evolutionary pathways, how dumb of me to forget.

I had an argument with Odin a while ago, and I asked him about more important things, and he just flipped me off. Not literally. Just...he kind of was asking to get a fist in his face by the way he was talking.

So yeah, I have, and I'm not going to bother them if they see us as wastes of their time.

They are separate entities with separate identities. Like people, some will be like that, and some will be more cooperative.

So, you're basically saying that I should just go to each one of their doors like an eager little Girl Scout and see which one actually opens their door to me?

Well, I would think it would be more like a Boy Scout, but that part of it is up to you. More seriously, however, what I was suggesting is that you don't start with one of the least likely ones, as you already did, but rather, try one of the most likely ones--both to be of assistance and to have relevant expertise. It seems like a more efficient approach to me. A positive attitude wouldn't hurt.

And are you going to tell me which one of the gods is the more likely ones, or do I have to go and pick based on the amazing god knowledge I have, apparently?

As I said. Sigyn. She's been cooperative in the past. Her portfolio includes caring for plants and healing, evidently, from the powers associated with it.

So, she's the nice lady out of all of them? Eh, might be worth a short. Maybe I can charm her over with the idea.

How do you get into contact with them though? Through the bracelet?

Certainly, that's one way to do it. Sometimes I believe they have been found on the network, or in one place or another around the city, particularly by their welcome hall, but I suppose the most expedient path would be a filtered message on the bracelet.

And what if they don't answer? Do I go and knock on their door, if they even have one?

You could, at that, but I think you'd have done all that's reasonable if you called.

Fine, fine, I'll call. I'll be the nice guy...for once. Don't want a god getting a hissy fit and smiting my butterfly house out of existence...
