005 || Accidental Video, then text

[A video footage will begin to record, revealing a small pair of teeth chewing onto the screen, from the angle it was clear to take note that a white pup or fox might be behind it. At one point, the teeth will disappear to reveal a curious baby fox staring back at the screen, wondering on the reason behind his papa throwing out such a great toy. It will not be long until another pair of paws will pounce onto the bracelet, the screen goes black due to it. Yet, the video does not seize from recording, on the contrary, there will be noises on the background as two foxes argue over keeping the toy for themselves or returning the item to their father.

After a while, the bracelet will be thrown further from them, in the background the foxes were still arguing and play fighting, but there was something new on the sceen -- a man's figure sitting on the ground, their arms wrapped around their knees, as the figure uses the corner as a wall to keep himself from falling onto the ground. At first, it will be difficult to tell who the man was due to the dim lights, but it was clear it was Soushi on the screen. While the twin foxes fought in the background, Soushi will not move an inch and the video will continue to record him until Rem, the more responsible fox kit, grabs the bracelet and hurriedly returns it to him with Rom, the one from the beginning, begrudgedly following after his brother. Rem will place the bracelet next to Soushi before he places his front paws onto his knee and begins to bark (whoever can undestand fox speak would know).]

(Papa! Please. Put it back on.)

[Soushi will not show any sign of movement until Rem barks even loudly, with more energy.]

(FATHER!)

[The bark will grab his attention as he moves his attention to the tiny creature, then he will notice the bracelet as Rom uses his nose to return the item to his dad. The older man will take hold of the bracelet, but without even thinking about it, he will toss the item at the other side of the room, filled with anger. The bracelet will hit the wall and ground, and moments later Rem will grab the bracelet and quickly return it to his father for the second time. Rom will try to shake for his attention. Again, Soushi will grab the bracelet and throw it even harder and further away. One would ask from being thrown, if he will ever notice the bracelet was on, but it didn't seem like it. And for the third time, one of the fox twins will grab the bracelet and return it to Soushi, but this time both foxes will bark and whine.]

(Papa. The bracelet is on! Speak.)

[At the realization of the bracelet recording, Soushi will reach for it and give it a glance as he realized that it was on, but he did not show sign of surprise or even emotion. His gaze was darkened, lack of emotion; even though, his eyes are clearly red, he must have cried. It will not be long until the screen will blackened, only for everyone in the network to receive the following message soon after:]

Ririchiyo Shirakiin has returned home. She is no longer within Asgard's borders. I apologize for not have had the chance to inform those whom were her acquaintance beforehand. Everything came as a surprise, even for myself. I am sorry.

[And with that, he turns off the feed without another word.]

[ ... Ririchiyo is.. gone?

She reads the message over three times, but no, she's clearly read it. And it clearly states it too. 'Ririchiyo Shirakiin has returned home.' She reads it over and over, but nothing about the message changes. Of course it doesn't. This is reality, a fact, it's something that's really happening and she can't deny it, even with as much as she'd like to. She's found her father missing only a few days ago, and now Ririchiyo too, her best friend.. It's like her chest feels a little more tight and her blood runs completely cold. Once more, everything is crumbling out from under her. The happy life she had built here.. was that just something that was waiting to be completely ruined like this? If both Rudolf and Ririchiyo left, who's next?

She forces herself to reply. It's difficult, and it goes slowly, but she tries to make her heart cold as she types. (But it doesn't work, not like it usually does, and she ends up biting her lip instead until it almost bleeds.) ]

You're sorry? No, someone should be sorry for you! [ Even through text it's very obvious that there's actual emotion in Ange for once. Anger, frustration, sadness, they all melt together at this point. At least she still has Shiki, but Soushi just lost his lover, right? She knows how much it hurts for her, so she can only imagine how much worse it must be for him. ]

[At receiving Ange's text, he will instantly read it (unlike those who had to wait an hour or two before receiving a return response back) and realized she was in as much pain as he was over the news. Soushi will not say nor think much of anything by the text instead he will only try to understand the other's pain. Her pain was more important than his own, after all. It was his fault that Ririchiyo was taken from them (at least, Soushi believed so).

Once he was calm and was able to find some traces of his old demeanor, he will change their communication from text to audio because he believed he owed Ange, at least, that much. While he was doing so, he made sure to change it to a more private setting, so they can be at ease to speak their minds without any trouble. The moment it was done, he will finally speak in his usual servitude tone, but slightly weaker than usual.]

...you are most kind, Ushiromiya-sama. But there is no need to waste such words upon myself. After all, I am not the sole person to feel the loss of my master. On the contrary, I feel as though...you will feel her absence as much as I will...

[A selfish part of him doubted it, but he shook it from his mind. No. The time to be selfish was not now. It was now time to learn and make important decisions over his situation and the situation of his kits and Murai.]

Ushiromiya-sama, I am terribly sorry for I was unable to hold my end of the bargain over finding her.... [And from his voice, it sounded sincere and genuine. He truly felt as thought he did failed her.]

[ Voice function. It immediately makes speaking up more difficult for her, so even after he's done talking she still clams up for a moment. Text is one thing, after all, even if her emotion in it just now was clear it was still more neutral. Less that she has to control to put up her usual front. But she knows she won't be able to keep her voice steady, not now - not while she's still emotional with the recent losses. Not while Asgard feels a little more empty every single time. ]

N.. no, I told you to not apologize, right? [ Her voice shakes, obviously so. It's quite the contrast to her usual tone, even if Soushi's is a lot like his usual one but weaker - and then to guilty. ] It's not like this is any of your fault, it's.. it's this place's fault, and there's nothing anyone apologizing will help!

[ Even wording things is difficult now. Once the words do come out, they're just instinctive, emotional, instead of carefully calculated like usually. ]

It's.. it's just not right! It's unfair, taking her away from us like this without any warning..!

[ Her voice chokes off at the end, hence why she stops talking. It almost oddly sounds like a sob, even if it's held back. And yes, of course she's saying 'us' - she does know Soushi is probably having even a worse time over all this than she is, and despite how crappy she feels for herself she feels sorry for him too. ]

[There will be no response over at Soushi's end as he allows Ange to speak her mind over the matter. While she speaks, he will be calculating the level of her emotions by her tone of voice alone. She truly did sound different than the norm. He can tell she was trying her utmost to speak and act normaly, but is unable to. What else can be causing her to feel the way she did? For the time being, he will try to find an anwer to her question:]

...whenever it comes to this realm, I am beginning to wonder if Ririchiyo-sama's disappearance is a type of retribution for not being of any use to their cause. Ririchiyo-sama is a strong warrior. Her ice magic was rather powerful. She had a certain mastery over it. It makes me wonder if there is a tactful reason over them keeping me instead of her. Compare to her, I am of no use.

[Those were his current thoughts over the matter. He blames himself for her disappearance. It must be his fault. After all, the gods would not be stupid to return one of their most active magical warriors, no?]

....it is. It is truly unfair. She shouldn't have been taken away from us without any warning. [Then he grows quiet before adding in a low tone of voice:] ...she won't forget you. No matter what, she will never forget you...

[ The first part does briefly shoot through her head, but right now she can't find the power in herself to think about this rationally. To think about the whys and hows, to think about the way these gods think and make decisions-- she can't do it, not right now. Right now she's too emotional to let reason take over like usually. ]

Wouldn't it be better if she forgot..?! Like this it'd just hurt her, right? [ If she was feeling the same as Ange, either way. After all, this means neither of them will ever see each other again. ] I.. If she remembers everything that happened with you, then.. that's fine, you guys are from the same place so you can just meet up together back home again. But.. but I'm stuck here!

...she wouldn't wish for it....

[That was the first thought that came out of Soushi's mouth as he heard Ange's question over his master's wants. Soushi knew, better than anyone else, that Ririchiyo would never wish to give up on her memories. No matter what, she would never wish to forget even if it would help sooth her. No. Ririchiyo wouldn't...]

Ririchiyo-sama would never wish to forget. On the contrary, she would treasure each and every memory; even the most painful ones. After all, her memories are very precious to her. She would not be Ririchiyo-sama if it was not for her memories. [He can't help remember the promise they both made to one another by using their own brand of magic, one they were to never forget those they have met and acquainted themselves to in Asgard. Soushi was determine to never forget. He can't. He will remember and hold those memories dear to him until the day Ririchiyo returns, just in case her memories are wiped clean.]

Her strength and own way to handle a situation. It is one of the many reasons I love her as much as I do, Ushiromiya-sama. Ririchiyo-sama is strong. She is the strongest person I know; even thought she is delicate and bashful, but underneath it all, she is capable to continue on without hoping to forget or make any such sacrifice. That is why... [He gets quiet. Trying to find the right words to his next statement.] You should not give up neither, Ushiromiya-sama. [...] Just like Ririchiyo-sama, you cannot lose hope neither. Don't let this world get the best of you... [Soushi, shouldn't you be following your own advice too?]

[ Exactly, Soushi, that's what someone else should be telling you..

But Ange doesn't answer at first. She does open her mouth as if to answer, but nothing comes out but dry air - no words at all. What can she even say or do? She shouldn't give up or lose hope, but.. she's already lost hope a long time ago, right? (Or maybe she had finally, finally gained some in this place again, only to have it smashed out from right under her feet at a time like this.) ]

... Sorry. [ When she speaks up, it's more like her usual tone again. But it's much more tight, so tight that it's easy to tell she's just forcing herself by now. She's trying to put the old walls into place again. ]

I let my emotions get the better of me. Don't worry about me, I'll deal.

[There will be silence at Soushi's part as he gives her time to think over his own words. Words that are not as simple to accept and continue on because he wasn't sure if he could believe them at the moment. He only felt like he needed to tell her this, so she does not lose hope. Soushi understood how much Ange's precense meant to his master and vice verse.

Once he heard the other girl speak, he will not speak immidiately after neither. Instead he will take a deep breath and release it after a while. He was beginning to feel tired from all these emotions taking him over. It was not too difficult to understand Ange at the moment.]

...I do not believe I'm able to accept your request at this time, Ushiromiya-sama. You do not have to try so hard to cover your tracks... [For once, he has finally pointed out the simple fact. Maybe at the worse time, but it had to be said.] ...I'll miss her. We can both miss her together. For the first time in many monthes, I will be entirely alone. [A light pause as he finally admits:] ...the longest time Ririchiyo-sama and I have ever been apart was for three days and two nights due to a class trip to the hot springs. [...] I would not have been able to live through those days if it were not for Natsume-san and Onii-sama. They both kept me company at the time...

[Looks like Soushi is trying to give Ange a hint over the best way to more or less take care of one's sadness.]

[ She knows that one just now was obvious, either way. She just had to try, since it feels too weird to be too open with her emotions. It feels too weak, and she can't let herself be weak anymore. Showing weakness invites being hurt. And that's something she's already had enough of.

There's a pause. She does get the hint, but it's not like something like this is something she's particularly good at, so.. she just answers calmly, but something about it almost sounds a little awkward too. ]

.. Is that so.

Yes.

[He will ignore the awkwardness from the other girl as he responds to her.]

If it were not for their assistance, then I would have remained in the confines of my own room; sleeping on the floor surrounded by the many precious pictures of my master until she returned. [Which meant he would have gone three days without eating, drinking, or take a shower. He is that devoted.] ...that is why...it is never a good idea to remain entirely alone during times such as these. To keep oneself busy is a better solution during times such as these.

[As he says it, he can't help decide to get up from the ground because it would seem he did not plan to remain in his room for long. He was getting tired of his own weakness or being as open as he is at the moment. Maybe. Who knows.]

Ushiromiya-sama, if it is not too much trouble, may I make one more inquiry?

[ Honestly, even though his case is definitely more extreme than her own, she does understand his actions. She very much feels the same right now, either way. There's no pictures or whatever, and she'll at least take showers and maybe eat and drink a little, but.. she doesn't feel like she has the energy to move up from her bed anymore. She just wants to keep lying here, what does it even matter if everyone is disappearing one by one..?

Even Soushi's advice practically falls on deaf ears. But she does at least bother to listen to the last part. ]

What is it? Just ask, I don't mind.

[At the other's answer allowing him to ask, Soushi will pause as he heads towards a particular object that happens to be in the home. Well, maybe not an object, more like a talking bird, who happens to be saying the following: "Don't be sad. Don't be sad."]

There is something I wish to present to you, Ushiromiya-sama. [A slight pause as he tries to get the bird to settle down. It would seem the tiny creature was trying to console the SS before him.] ...he is Ririchiyo-sama's most precious companion. I believe Ririchiyo-sama would have preferred if you could watch after him in her absence.

[Once the words are said, he will allow a few moments before saying the following:] His name is Murai, he is a myna bird. Have you ever heard of them?

[ Out of all things, this isn't quite anything she expected. So the moment she hears that tone, she can already figure what it must be (or at least, the vague category of things it could be). A talking bird..? ]

No, I haven't. Are they a little like parrots?

Yes. Myna birds are tiny birds. They are a rather gregarious, kind, and known as wonderful companions. Murai is his name. He has been keeping Ririchiyo-sama company ever since she was a young girl. [A short pause.] Before we met, Murai has been the only company she has ever had...he is very, very precious.

[That's why...]

I wish for you to have him. He will be in much better capable hands if he was to be paired up with someone as yourself. I do not believe it will be possible for the fox kits and Murai to be within the same household whenever I am absent. [The fox kits might try to eat him, is what he is trying to explain.]

[ .. Huh? He's.. giving the bird to her? Even though that bird has been Ririchiyo's for such a long time, the only thing that kept her company.. she does understand the reason he gives in the end, but it still feels.. weird. Like it's something that's too big for her to accept. ]

.. You're sure? [ It's rare for Ange to make sure of things like this, but right now while she's still upset her true emotions come out more quickly either way - like the insecurity just now. ] I mean, not that I wouldn't take care of it, but.. it was Ririchiyo's pet..

Ririchiyo-sama is not here. [He is repeating the bad news, so Ange can realize the full extent of the situation.] I do not believe I will be capable enough to properly look after Murai. Birds and I...we do not usually get along. [Well, he does hold the fox spirit within him, so....it might be best for him to look after the baby kits instead.]

Ushiromiya-sama, I have faith in you. I know you will take better care of him than I. And... [A short pause.] Ririchiyo-sama would wholeheartedly agree upon my decision. If it will bring you any sort of confort, then you can return Murai to Ririchiyo-sama if she ever returns to Asgard. [And with a more cheerful tone of voice.] You'll have a reason to visit if that were the case.

...

Okay. [ She doesn't really have much other choice, right? If he says he can't take care of it very well, and Ririchiyo would want it too.. well, it's not like a bird would be much trouble. Even if she's never had a pet before, but she knows she's responsible enough for it. ]

I'll try my best to take care of it. Do you want to bring him over or should I come pick him up instead?

I'll bring him to you, Ushiromiya-sama. There is no need for you to take such a trip over to Freya and back to Hel.

[He can tell she does not seem to be in the mood to do so.]

I will bring Murai and his items over along with a list for you to follow. He is not difficult to look after, but he follows a rather strict diet. It would be best to continue her directions. [Thank goodness for Ririchiyo thinking ahead about this.] May I visit you now, if you are not too busy?

[ Honestly, she's a little glad to hear the answer. Not that she wants anyone to see her right now, while she's like this, not even Soushi, but.. ah, well. Not like she has a choice right now. Maybe she can keep it brief either way. ]

Go right ahead. And if it's just food that I need to think of the most when looking after him, I'll be fine.

[Being a very brief visit will be for the best. Soushi is not in the conversation mood neither. He simply wishes to get one more extra weight off his chest.]

There is no doubt on my mind that you will do a splendid job.

I'll be heading over to Hel soon. [Ah, and before he forgets.] What room number do you currently reside in, Ushiromiya-sama? [After all, it will be the first time to visit her.]

[ She lets out a tiny and mostly tired sigh. ]

Will you be able to find that? I don't know how often you've been in Hel before.

There is no need to feel concern, Ushiromiya-sama. I will find it. Hel is not a district I visit often, but I am familiar with the Welcome Hall's floor design.

[More like he would pass by the Welcome Hall of every district to study their interior design, in case of an emergency.]

Please allow me half an hour or so to arrive. I promise to not take much of your time. It will be a simple visit.

[He won't take most of her time. Presenting her with Murai is all he will do. For her to get better will be left in the hands of Murai, Ushiormiya-sama, and time. There is nothing he can do because, sadly, their relationship is rather weak in that sense. At least, he believes so. To offer comfort to others, it was not his talent unless he needed to because he wanted to use them for his own gains. No, he can never commit such a sin on her because she was his friend.]
