...How do you memorialize a god?  I realize that there are many of us here who still don't agree with the gods, their war, or the way they've chosen to go about fighting it, but I think we should all recognize the sacrifice that Freyr made.  Regardless of whether or not he was only trying to protect the other gods, it's a fact that his actions saved us all when everything looked hopeless, and he should be honored for that.  A funeral doesn't seem quite appropriate, but I'm not sure what else would be.

Sort of, yeah. Or something like an altar. Either way, it could be someplace...where people could come remember what he did.

[sparkling_eyes]

I like that idea. I wonder if there are any sculptors living here.

[intenses]

If not one of the people that got brought here, maybe one of the natives would help out. [ she likes to think they're all good people at heart, even through things like this ]

[sparkling_eyes]

The natives...? I hadn't thought of that. I wonder how they're reacting to all of this.

[intenses]

Well...they probably lost a lot of people. [ she sounds solemn, now ] But they'd want to honor what Freyr did, too.

[sparkling_eyes]

That's true. I'm sure they miss him.

[intenses]

[ a pause. she's been thinking about this ] What do you think this means for the city? I mean, he was a god.

[sparkling_eyes]

I'm not sure. I hope the people living in his district will be all right. I work in the theater there, so I wonder what will happen to it.

[intenses]

The gods can be weird about some things, but...after that, I don't think they'll let them all get in trouble.

[sparkling_eyes]

That's true. Maybe Freya will take care of his district.

[intenses]

I'm in Freya, and I wouldn't mind if I needed to help out. Hopefully everybody else in this house feels the same.

[sparkling_eyes]

I hope so too.

[intenses]

Oh, uh- [ she's so frazzled, she forgot about introductions ] I'm Julie, by the way.

[sparkling_eyes]

Nice to meet you, Julie. I'm Lyon.

[intenses]

You too. [ sigh ] I wish it could be in a better situation, though.

[sparkling_eyes]

I know what you mean.

[intenses]

Well...at least it's over. For now.

[sparkling_eyes]

We should probably start preparing now for the next attack, though.

[intenses]

Yeah. But I hope we at least have time to recover a bit- they need to too, right?

[sparkling_eyes]

I would think so. The battle was hard on all of us.

[intenses]

So...we might even have a couple months. That doesn't mean we shouldn't start preparing, but it's possible.

[sparkling_eyes]

We just need to make sure we're ready for anything.

[intenses]

Do you think they'd attack us the same way again? I mean...it's kind of hard to figure out what to do after dragons. [ she suddenly has the fleeting thought that Texas would've at least enjoyed that part of the battle. could she be...missing him?? ]

[sparkling_eyes]

Not the same way twice in a row. They'll definitely try something different the next time.

[intenses]

So that means we need to find some way to figure out what they'll do next.
