[Between Mary being very, very missing and everything he knows she's keeping from him, John's stressed as hell. And when John gets stressed, he likes to drink to cope.
And when John drinks, he stops being the nice, helpful guy he usually is.]
We don't have to fight their damn war, you know.
[Yeah, kinda like that.]
These goddamn gods yanked us here and they expect us to fight and die in some war we've got no stake in? Oh, where have I heard that before?
[There's another pause as he takes another drink of...whatever this stuff is. It's good. It's strong.]
This isn't our fight. Fuck them.

judging you just a little, misterRegardless if there is or isn't, Allen's got incredibly keen senses for things like the way a despairing person might slam back a hard drink. By ear or not. So his voice is a little terse, if soft.]
Feeling sorry for ourselves isn't going to help anyone, either. [IT'S NOT THAT HE CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION—
But.] I don't think it matters if it's what they want or isn't. It doesn't change the fact that there are people that need our help, does it?
[Audio]
He also likes getting mad at people who try to be nice.]
Don't patronize me, man. I know people need help, but it's not our job to do it.

[ ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇ. ]
You may not be saying that when the war comes to you. I do find myself wondering though, how long are you willing to deny everything and brush everything off as ‘none of your concern’?
[ ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇ. ]
What the hell does she think she knows about war anyway?]
I'll stop "denying" it when it when someone give me a good reason why I should die for these assholes.

These are the same people who sent a dragon to drop a plague in this town. Screw them. They pissed me off.

[He hasn't spoken to John yet, and isn't sure if the hunter has any idea who he is, but he understands this sentiment. He still feels it, a great deal.]

[ There's a brief pause in the audio which, if John could see it, would be filled with Rory frowning. Just frowning. This is a difficult subject, but he can't bring himself to lie. ]
But it is our fight too. I know it doesn't seem like it. At all. But the gods have already said--our worlds are involved as well.

What? When the hell did they say that?

You are a bit deep into drink, John Winchester. Perhaps you might slow your hand.

Some of us don't have the luxury of being so open with how they feel.
