Seeing as not all of us were gifted with a very offensive-type power, figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

[She puts the gun down.]

Self defense is useful, don't get me wrong, but would anyone want to learn how to shoot a gun? Not really planning on giving them out or anything, but if we're gonna fight a war and there are some of us with...well. Kind of useless powers when it comes to our own safety, it might help?

[If Bobby were here she'd be getting an earful. She's probably going to get it from her mom. Oh well.]

Not all of them are. But I've got energy lending and it's real helpful for other people when there's a big fight. Me? Not so much.

I mean, I'd still have to learn how to use them, but...

I already know how to shoot but I'd need help finding one that I could use here. I'm kind of young, so I've been worried that if I asked people about it, they'd worry. I'd also want someone to spot me as I got used to the new weapon.

And what sort of thing is a gun?

It's a weapon. Shoots small iron pellets at very fast speeds. Usually used to kill animals or people, depending on what you're shooting. It's not very large, hand-held usually.

[Jo's interacted with more than a few people who aren't from her modern time, so she's not too bothered by explaining herself.]

( the only thing she can conceptualize it as is...a crossbow or something. it seems odd that she not only know how to wield one, but enough expertise to teach others how to do so.

Not me personally. These were...a friend of mine's. He's gone and he left them to me.

[Dean catches the end of her post and makes his way out to talk to her one-on-one, taking up his favorite place leaning against the door frame. It's still a little weird seeing her int he flesh, but the kind of weird he could totally get used to.]

[Jo looks up for just a moment when Dean first appears, leaning against the door frame, but not much longer. Instead she goes right back to cleaning out the barrel of the particular pistol she was holding.]

Yeah? Isn't that Arthur's pet-project?

[since she has already had a nice long talk with him about his thoughts on guns. Which did not end well. But Jo sighs, setting the pieces down on the table and leaning back in her chair, looking up at Dean again.]

Think he'd actually let me in?

Yeah. [He thinks he recognizes that look on Jo's face.] He's the definition of old school, but he's a good guy. I think he'd give you a shot if you talked to him about it.
