[She'd meant to do this earlier, but with the whole animal event and a few particular people disappearing and/or going missing, she just didn't have the heart. But after a serious morning of 'get your shit together', Jo finds herself in front of the network.

Or, more specifically, at the dining room table in TFW's house cleaning a handgun, staring at her bracelet.]

Seeing as not all of us were gifted with a very offensive-type power, figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

[She puts the gun down.]

Self defense is useful, don't get me wrong, but would anyone want to learn how to shoot a gun? Not really planning on giving them out or anything, but if we're gonna fight a war and there are some of us with...well. Kind of useless powers when it comes to our own safety, it might help?

[If Bobby were here she'd be getting an earful. She's probably going to get it from her mom. Oh well.]

Can't make any promises, but I figured I'd check. Let me know.

I already know how to shoot but I'd need help finding one that I could use here. I'm kind of young, so I've been worried that if I asked people about it, they'd worry. I'd also want someone to spot me as I got used to the new weapon.

( alayne is quiet for a moment, studying this post with keen eyes. she has seen a lot of strange things since arriving here, and heard a lot of strange words, and there's an odd curiosity that arises from this. still, better to err on the side of caution - there are those who are angered when questioned, after all. )

And what sort of thing is a gun?

What's your power, anyway? And have you used a gun before?

Not all of them are. But I've got energy lending and it's real helpful for other people when there's a big fight. Me? Not so much.

I can spot you with a new weapon, no problem. I'm not planning on giving any of the ones I have out just yet - but I can help you look.

There's got to be a place somewhere in this city to find you one.

I actually know of a weapon store in Thor! I'd feel kind of weird going there by myself ... Maybe it'll be all right!

I'm guessing you're thinking of the target range at the Thor arena for practice?

It's a weapon. Shoots small iron pellets at very fast speeds. Usually used to kill animals or people, depending on what you're shooting. It's not very large, hand-held usually.

Yeah, that's where I've gone in the past. Seems to work just fine.

How about we meet at the Arena first and you can test me on what I know, and if I pass we go to the shop? I imagine you'll want to be sure of me before vouching for me.

Actually...if someone like you with energy lending teamed up with someone like me...I could basically draw up any sort of weapon we'd need...

I mean, I'd still have to learn how to use them, but...
