So, hopefully everyone's okay again after all of... that. It got a bit tough for a while. [ Understatement, but she rolls with it. And quickly moves on. The sentiment was definitely real but just a bit of a preface for what she really wants ]

And I'm hoping that people are okay enough to answer a few questions? You know, being the new girl and all there's just one or two. [ Or one leading to two leading to twenty... hundred ]

So. Things have been said which are kind of making me think that this has happened before. Maybe not this this but something bad. That and the war, and war's bad enough, well... we're kind of really underprepared. [ She doesn't even know what to do herself - or if she can do anything ]

But. Second point. They say our powers are gone, but what about something more... innate? [ Like her natural magic. She can't orb but she hasn't exactly tried a spell yet. Or scrying. She'd love to do that, scry for a god, or someone ] Something that's kind of natural to you. Has anyone had anything like that and kept it? I know people have talked to the gods about powers and they've kind of shown us what'd happen if we had them [ She's so glad she missed that - for them ] but what if it's not entirely like a power? [ And that's about all she can say without being vague. Oh boy ]

He said possession and demons may have come up. Or she might have just assumed since possessor demons etc etc. She just wants to chat ]

It depends on what you call normal, but I can at least re-direct someone aiming a knife at me.

That's kind of impressive. [ She's not sure if it is what she means - is there something amping his reflexes? But what is normal ] That could fit.

Yeah, some stuff's missing. I'm stuck looking like one of you guys for starters. I could switch back and forth as much as I wanted before.

I see where you're going with this. Interesting.

When the gods explained why people's powers didn't work here, they said that it was because to fit this world we had to be reshaped into forms compatible with this. There were, I shit you not, actual girls going around saying they were ponies in their world, turned into humans (or something that looked pretty human) here.

That said, I kept something unnatural and different about me. It's not a power, more like a physical condition, result of a freak accident I don't want to talk about. Given the lines along which you're thinking, it's interesting.

[ Oh, hello random text person. Well, this is good information except: ] Can you give me any clues? Even just vague? [ A physical condition was something, she wouldn't call her natural magic that but... lets go with trying to squeeze information ]

Seriously though, you get to a point in figuring this out where my circumstances would make or break your theory, I'll let you know. Until then, this is as much as I'm willing to share.

I can put things together, but there's a lot of options. [ Like what this circumstance even is and how it's different - physical condition wise, anyway ]

There's people who have been stuck here 5 months. You can't be expecting this to be easy. If you're serious about working out what's going on in this city, you'll need to be persistent.

I've gotten used to things not being easy. [ If magic taught her one thing... ] And you don't have to worry about that. Figuring this out is something I kind of need to do.

I'm a shapeshifter, and this is not exactly my unchanged body.

The differences are mostly cosmetic. I don't look exactly as I should. Which is...likely for the better.

I would be careful, though. Attempting to change my shape simply didn't work, but I've heard that trying something like magic can be dangerous.

Well I already know what's gone, I just wanted to know whether anything else would be wasting my time. [ Potions or spells, and of what? ] But consider that advice taken.

Yeah, I remember -- what about my world?

Well... everything. It started with possession - the body control power? Apparently we think the same about it. [ Or think it is the same as possession and had to have the differences very clearly explained ]

The body control powers here work the same as possession in my world?

Actually, just that we both thought it was like possession. Like demons? [ Any bells there? ]

[He arches his eyebrows slightly.]

Demon possession in my world is the act of a demon -- a tortured spirit from Hell -- forcing its way into your body. You can't move, breathe, do anything but what that demon wants you to do. It's entirely against your will and you feel everything that it's doing. It's also really hard to snap out of it -- few people get out of being possessed by a demon unless you're exorcised.

From what I understand, this is sort of like attaching marionette strings to a puppet.

Yeah, that's what I was told. The second part anyway. [ As for tortured spirit? Huh, slightly different, but the rest is close enough ] For me demons aren't spirits, they're people, just bad people and not actually human. [ Half demons don't count here ] And I guess Hell for them - living wise - would be the Underworld? And not every demon can possess you, just possessor demons.

They take everything.

Well, that's kind of contradicting other things I've heard. [ Like the poison thing and this other 'physical condition ]
