Not as big of a dishonor as you've done to people who might care if you'd actually hurt yourself.

[He stepped closer and swatted a few stray bits of grass from Ritsu's sleeve.]

Hey, for once, it should be me apologizing. I'm sorry I didn't check on you after... what happened the other day.

[He's clearly ready to start apologizing again, when 'that day' is brought up. He stops, looks at Hasao, and then looks down again, clearly ashamed - granted, it's how he looks most of the time, but this one looks seriously disgusted with himself.]

... Nothing I can ever do in this lifetime can make up for my cowardly actions that day. All I could do was cry like a child, while you were...

[Hisao shook his head firmly, placing a hand on the other man's shoulder.]

No. You were a victim too - you were being controlled against your will by her power. You have nothing to apologize for at all. But if I was any kind of friend worth having, I would have reached out to you long before now and I'm sorry I didn't. It's been a pretty rough time for me and that's about the only excuse I have.

I honestly don't blame you for that at all, Ritsu - It was an impossible situation for both of us and I'm just glad we're both alright in the end.

[He pulls a clean handkerchief from his pocket and offers it to Ritsu.]

I hear you. I never would have expected to have been a part of something like that. In all honesty, I'm surprised we both got away so lightly.

It won't - we're going to try and work something out to stop it happening again. Sam thinks it's something to do with the lunar cycles, so, that gives us a timetable. And she's agreed to be confined during the times we assume she's at risk. So, try not to worry, alright?

I do hope that works... poor Miss Samantha... Having a side that you can't control...

[He sounds rather sympathetic and understanding about that.]

It's really terrible. For her as well as the people who wind up on it's bad side - she's just as much a victim here as any of us. I'm glad we're going to stick with her as friends, Ritsu - she needs them, even if she'd be the first to say otherwise.

[He's sympathetic too, though his understanding obviously comes from a different place than the Man who becomes Monkey.]
