BACKDATED TO YESTERDAY ➔ 1ST MUTATION ➔ VIDEO
Better late than never, I'd say.
[ Charles has been trying to adjust to life in Asgard. He was pulled out of his world, at the worst possible time only to arrive to the fact - he was void of his telepathy. Adjusting is a work in progress. But he's treating this thing like it was a presentation or a lecture, so he's doing his best to look adequate. Like it's not getting to him. The smile he passes is an easy one. ]
I suppose, it's common courtesy to introduce oneself over the network. My name is Charles Xavier. Before arriving in Asgard, I was a professor of Genetics. I had written a thesis on genetic advancements, mutations. People with gifts. Gifts that were very much so similar to the 'powers' bestowed to us by these gods. Gifts with untapped potential to be the catalyst for a better world.
In Asgard, we are a put at a point - where everyone is put on equal footing. Everyone is in possession of these gifts and we're capable of having peaceful cohabitation. But it does beg the question, before Asgard - was anyone in possession of gifts?

You didn't have powers or magic? Not everyone with gifts announces it.
[ seizing the moment as a fine opportunity. ]
Are you enjoying the whole life with powers deal?
no subject
Nope and nope. And try 'everything was boring and normal'. [ Minus her crazy time ]
Not when everyone talks about war. [ And your power drives you slightly crazy. HOW'S THAT TELEPATHY? ]
no subject
Sometimes, I find normal is a refreshing change. It's really not so much different from my old home. We were entering a period historians would term as a cold 'war'.
no subject
I wouldn't say no to some normal right about now. [ Maybe missing the point a bit. And... she may have (will) passed history but she's not so great on random references ] What was it like?
no subject
[ not that charles would know, his life was something pampered and handed down to him. ]
I think - this, Asgard - it's certainly a refreshing change. And you? What was your 'normal' word like?
no subject
It's probably about the opposite of this. I was graduating high school, and the weirdest thing doesn't even count as weird anymore. And now I can hear what people think and what we do brings colour here.

Look. I don't know how much faith you'd put in a complete and utter stranger, but - before my arrival in Asgard - I happened to be in possession of ... telepathy.
If you ever need anyone you want to talk to this about - considering this an open invitation.

And I wouldn't mind teaching her. It's become second nature to me, admittedly.

How did you learn to deal with it?

[ a beat. ]
I - I'm sorry, I realise I haven't asked for your name.

How have you been adjusting with this, so far?
no subject
I haven't really done anything with it. I can hear bits but I can't control it - or stop it. [ She hasn't tried to control it for not wanting to have it, or use it, which means that she can't block it out ] It's a bit of a headache.
