Better late than never, I'd say.

[ Charles has been trying to adjust to life in Asgard. He was pulled out of his world, at the worst possible time only to arrive to the fact - he was void of his telepathy. Adjusting is a work in progress. But he's treating this thing like it was a presentation or a lecture, so he's doing his best to look adequate. Like it's not getting to him. The smile he passes is an easy one. ]

I suppose, it's common courtesy to introduce oneself over the network. My name is Charles Xavier. Before arriving in Asgard, I was a professor of Genetics. I had written a thesis on genetic advancements, mutations. People with gifts. Gifts that were very much so similar to the 'powers' bestowed to us by these gods. Gifts with untapped potential to be the catalyst for a better world.

In Asgard, we are a put at a point - where everyone is put on equal footing. Everyone is in possession of these gifts and we're capable of having peaceful cohabitation. But it does beg the question, before Asgard - was anyone in possession of gifts?

[ Charles feels like like he's wearing the wrong shoes. If he's being honest. The scope of his powers was a wide one, and healing - while it is in essence, also a way to help people - he feels like telepathy was more multipurpose. But he can't be picky; gifts are gifts. As long as he can find some way to use it help people, he's fine. ]

[ Raven, on the other hand, is being picky. A power is a power, yes, but shape shifting was hers. That's just what she did and what she was good at. It's what helped to make her interesting and unique. It could distract from her blue skin when she wanted it to. Here, the blue skin is all she has. Blue skin and yellow eyes and scales. Here, she's just a- Well, she doesn't want to think about how people might really feel about her, what some people have just been too nice to say to her face ]

I can come to you. I know how to get around this place a lot better than you do. I've been here longer. [ Despite her argument, she quickly adds ] I'm in room 201.

[ Charles knows how it is. Telepathy was his and he owned it. He had it easier than most and by such a young age he had a decent grasp of how to use it. He has the advantage of a power that's invisible. Charles has never quite understood her problem. He treats it like a girl who's self conscious - something entirely cosmetic. He's trivializing, refusing to acknowledge the depths of possibilities that it's something deeper.

( he tells her he understands, but he really doesn't. charles believes he does. believes it's within his capacities to, but he'll never understand her the way erik does ).

he's never going to leave her, not unless she asks and he's certainly hoping asgard is a dozen times more accepting. considering in some people's worlds powers are a commonality. but she has his loyalties, asgard doesn't. he's determined to wedge his way between she and erik, make himself a glue that keeps them both together. they could survive this if they didn't disagree. ( he's idealistic. terribly so. ) ]

Well, I'd certainly prefer a tour. Would you have any objections to acquainting me with the area? We could get drinks.
