BACKDATED TO YESTERDAY ➔ 1ST MUTATION ➔ VIDEO
Better late than never, I'd say.
[ Charles has been trying to adjust to life in Asgard. He was pulled out of his world, at the worst possible time only to arrive to the fact - he was void of his telepathy. Adjusting is a work in progress. But he's treating this thing like it was a presentation or a lecture, so he's doing his best to look adequate. Like it's not getting to him. The smile he passes is an easy one. ]
I suppose, it's common courtesy to introduce oneself over the network. My name is Charles Xavier. Before arriving in Asgard, I was a professor of Genetics. I had written a thesis on genetic advancements, mutations. People with gifts. Gifts that were very much so similar to the 'powers' bestowed to us by these gods. Gifts with untapped potential to be the catalyst for a better world.
In Asgard, we are a put at a point - where everyone is put on equal footing. Everyone is in possession of these gifts and we're capable of having peaceful cohabitation. But it does beg the question, before Asgard - was anyone in possession of gifts?

/video -- and so sorry for the abundance of adorable little girl
[ She's a clever girl, but likes to hear the answers to things anyway. ]
I was never given abilities, but I did get to visit many magical places. Does that count? Anyway, it is nice to see so many wonderful people here, even if it isn't the nicest place. Oh. Well, I've been rude. I'm Lucy, Lucy Pevensie!
no subject
[ smiling easily. ]
It counts on some level. And where did you go, Lucy?
[ see he registered magical places as her being well travelled. ]
no subject
[ She smiles brightly. She is well traveled in some ways. ]
Oh, well. There was a place I visited that I loved very much, but I wasn't allowed to go very often. But I spent so much time there, one might think I'm the old one!
[ She giggles. This was always a fun tale to tell. ]
no subject
[ but now you've gotten him curious, so he moves to settle down into his chair. ]
And where was that place, Lucy? Did you go there with your family?
no subject
Narnia, it is called. I lived there with my brothers and sister for many, many years. Helped rule it, even. I couldn't talk about Narnia at home, not to my parents, but here I can. It was nearly out of a story book! Mystic lamp posts, curious creatures and a beautiful castle by the sea. Honest, I'm not lying!
(ooc: your Xavier is ADORABLE. )
Thank you so much.YOUR LUCY IS SO ADORABLE TOO. LET CHARLES ADOPT HER
[ grinning. he's an only child, well, raven did grow up with him but - he'd have never been allowed to do something like that. but this is what he registers as being from different worlds. ]
I'm sure your parents would love to hear of it. You must tell me more about it, it seems like an absolutely charming place.
NO REALLY. HE CAN ADOPT HER. Sorry I am slow to reply! I'm on GMT ;o;
[ She wrinkles her nose and laughs, shrugging her shoulders. ]
No, we can never tell our parents. We were sent away because of the war, you see. When we went to Narnia the first time, we defeated a witch, an evil, White Witch, who made it winter every day and caused great pain to its people. Some of the details are blurry now that I've gone, but... well, we defeated the Witch in a Great Battle, and lived there many years governing the peace of the people.
My parents would never understand, you see. And most people won't believe me, or my brothers and sister, because we only look like children, but we came to be a adults. We ruled the Kingdom and then one day, we were gone. Back to being children.
[ And although she should look sad, she doesn't. In fact, she is always hopeful and happy, the glue to the Pevensie children. ]
Now you must think I'm mad!
OH GOOD GRIEF I AM TERRIBLY SORRY THIS IS LATE; also i will backtag 5ever.
[ The story's a bit queer in nature. For what it is, Charles wants to be a little skeptical but then - Why would a kid lie? It seems a bit farfetched but then again he's a mutant. So maybe all things considered maybe what she's talking about is real. So he takes a moment to process and then he laughs at that last statement. ]
Not at all, not at all. You're a princess. I think what you're telling me is rather marvelous, even. So may I make the inquiry as to how old you are really? I think the whole tale is absolutely enchanting, really.
UGH HDU. And by that I mean I will backtag forever too.
[ She watches him curiously and finally laughs. ] And it isn't a tale, you know. But it was truly wonderful. I've been back since, but... but I won't get to go back anymore. But I was twenty three when we left Narnia. Or nearly.
[ She shrugs her shoulders. ] I must seem rather silly to you. But you were asking about gifts? You must have talents, then!
no subject
[ a laugh - he was expecting this question to come up eventually. ]
I was certainly in possession of my own magic tricks. Are you good at keeping secrets, Lucy?
no subject
[ Lucy has never lied in her life, not intentionally, but she's seen others do the same for the good of others or their world. ]
Yes, I can keep secrets safe. I had to keep Narnia a secret, and, well, I still do sometimes.
no subject
Do what one needs to do to keep a sense of a peace.
[ Charles has lied a reasonable amount; but he avoids it when he can. Only if it's for the better. ]
Before I came into Asgard, I could read minds. [ he offers smoothly. Because, after all - why hide? ] - I can't do it now, so if you're thinking of a number and asking me to guess - I will most certainly get it wrong.
RL sucks. feel free to drop this if you need to! <3
[ How sad that must be. She remembers losing Narnia, and while it's not the same, it felt like a part of her just suddenly went missing.]
SWEETIE I will backtag for pretty long! its cool! /CLINGS TO! c:
- It did. I've been with these powers my whole life, so to be without it - it's ... certainly - a new sensation.
