[The video starts up and the Arena can be seen in the background. Gwendolyn positions herself so she can be seen, at least one of her wings somewhat expanded outwards, and her spear is in sight as well. The expression on her face is stoic, determined, prideful, confident. And well, she came here for a good reason, one that she about to announce.]

Good day, my fellow citizens. If I have not told you, I am a Valkyrie, a battle maiden who fought for her country and pride in her realm. Today, I have found myself restless and discovered the arena. If you have the courage to do so, I would like to challenge anyone who sees this. I shall be waiting here, but rest assured, it will not be an easy battle. [She grins, cocky.] I do not intend to take anyone’s life, as death here is meaningless, however I still will go all out against anyone who accepts my challenge.

[That grin is still there as the video feed cuts out. She will be waiting in the arena as promised for anyone who wishes to challenge her, practicing with her spear and getting ready for any battles ahead.]

[ ~~PING'D!~~ For a second, Gohan can't really help but stare, blinking owlishly as he let the declaration sink in. It's not even the fact that she's asking for a sparring partner, it's more the fact that she's so... confident about herself as she asks for one. Like she doesn't even have to hide the fact that she's not like everyone else.

As opposed to him, who has to hide his powers just to be able to fit in and not have people look at him like he's from another planet entirely. Not that that's even a problem here, given he can't actually access his powers, but... ]

[ A-Anyway, sparring. This sounds like a good idea, actually. ]

A spar, huh? I think I'd be up for that, actually..

[She observes him through the feed. Yes, he seems like one who is fit to do battle and his response to her, while she’d rather have something more confirming, still, it’s nice for now. Her cocky smile softens a bit, though that expression of confidence is still there.]

If you are willing to do battle with me, then I shall be awaiting in the arena. [Sorry, she’s not the most patient person in the world.] However, until then, I am happy to hear of your interest. I believe I have spoken to you before, but never was able to know your name. I am Gwendolyn.

[ Gohan's not sure he'll ever get used to that formal manner of speech. But it's not necessarily a bad thing. Just... a bit too high-class for a country hick like him. Either way, she can have a bit of a sheepish chuckle as he realizes that he did, in fact, forget to introduce himself. ]

Y-Yeah, sorry about that. I guess I was so overwhelmed by everything that I just sort of forgot.. [ Another chuckle as he strts making his way over. ] I'm Gohan.

That is perfectly understandable. It has been terribly overwhelming to suddenly be taken from our familiar realms and brought here.

[Gwendolyn is not offended by this. Normally such lack of manners would have tipped her off, but he seems so positive and peppy that she finds that perhaps that makes up for them. Even the fact that this is a male she’s speaking to and she’s smiling, less of a smirk and more of a smile… yes, there’s something different about him. He’s different. She likes that.]

‘Tis a pleasure to speak with you Gohan, and ‘twill be even more of one when we are able to spar.

I hope so!

[ Gohan said with a more genuine chuckle, beaming as he kept walking. Heck, maybe losing his powers might even make for a fairer match. After all, it would definitely make things more interesting, fighting without his usual abilities. And maybe he'd be able to learn what his limits were now that his powers were seemingly gone. That was what dad did, wasn't it? Constantly find his limits and push through them?

Maybe that was what he needed to start doing now. ]

I should be there pretty soon, so hopefully you won't be waiting too long!

I am a bit out of practice, as I have lost my right hand and am still learning how to work with my left, but I would appreciate someone to spar with if you do not mind that.

[She was never that much of a swordswoman before, but she's certainly had incentive to learn since the Glacier.]

[A warrior who lost their arm, but still wishes to fight. She respects that a lot.]

[But also against such a person, she doesn't intend to harm her and would be more than willing to help her learn to work with her left hand.]

That's fine. I will make my way over there shortly.

[And she does. Lirael comes to the arena fifteen minutes later, or so, with her short sword strapped to her right hip, her bandolier of (usless) bells on her chest, and her light gethre mail tunic under her surcoat. She even has her long, dark hair tied back, for once, since having hair in her face won't do when she's trying to fight someone.

And sure enough, she has no right hand, merely a stump ending at her wrist.]

[Gwendolyn is practicing, getting ready for any of her challengers to arrive. After all, she doesn’t want to disappoint them after making such a confident claim. Seeing the woman, she smiles, and ceases her practice. Walking up to her, she brings her shielded arm up to her chest and gives her a small bow.]

I am happy to see that you have come.

[And looking at her arm, she is easily able to tell who it is.]

My name is Gwendolyn. ‘Tis a pleasure to have this honor to spar with you.

[Lirael doesn't really bow back-- it's not something the Clayr really do much, so she's not certain of the etiquette of it-- but she does duck her head in shy politeness.]

You might not think so after you try. But I will do my best.

[And she's sure she'll wind up on her rump, disarmed, almost immediately. But she's still going to try.]

[As long as she tries, that is all Gwendolyn can ask for. She can tell the girl is hardly a warrior, and if she was once one, it’s been a while since she’s seen battle. Her trained eye is able to tell.]

As long as you do your best, I have no complaints.

[And with that, she points her spear outward towards her, in her battle ready position.]
