[The video starts up and the Arena can be seen in the background. Gwendolyn positions herself so she can be seen, at least one of her wings somewhat expanded outwards, and her spear is in sight as well. The expression on her face is stoic, determined, prideful, confident. And well, she came here for a good reason, one that she about to announce.]

Good day, my fellow citizens. If I have not told you, I am a Valkyrie, a battle maiden who fought for her country and pride in her realm. Today, I have found myself restless and discovered the arena. If you have the courage to do so, I would like to challenge anyone who sees this. I shall be waiting here, but rest assured, it will not be an easy battle. [She grins, cocky.] I do not intend to take anyone’s life, as death here is meaningless, however I still will go all out against anyone who accepts my challenge.

[That grin is still there as the video feed cuts out. She will be waiting in the arena as promised for anyone who wishes to challenge her, practicing with her spear and getting ready for any battles ahead.]

[ ~~PING'D!~~ For a second, Gohan can't really help but stare, blinking owlishly as he let the declaration sink in. It's not even the fact that she's asking for a sparring partner, it's more the fact that she's so... confident about herself as she asks for one. Like she doesn't even have to hide the fact that she's not like everyone else.

As opposed to him, who has to hide his powers just to be able to fit in and not have people look at him like he's from another planet entirely. Not that that's even a problem here, given he can't actually access his powers, but... ]

[ A-Anyway, sparring. This sounds like a good idea, actually. ]

A spar, huh? I think I'd be up for that, actually..

I am a bit out of practice, as I have lost my right hand and am still learning how to work with my left, but I would appreciate someone to spar with if you do not mind that.

[She was never that much of a swordswoman before, but she's certainly had incentive to learn since the Glacier.]

[She observes him through the feed. Yes, he seems like one who is fit to do battle and his response to her, while she’d rather have something more confirming, still, it’s nice for now. Her cocky smile softens a bit, though that expression of confidence is still there.]

If you are willing to do battle with me, then I shall be awaiting in the arena. [Sorry, she’s not the most patient person in the world.] However, until then, I am happy to hear of your interest. I believe I have spoken to you before, but never was able to know your name. I am Gwendolyn.

[A warrior who lost their arm, but still wishes to fight. She respects that a lot.]

[But also against such a person, she doesn't intend to harm her and would be more than willing to help her learn to work with her left hand.]

[ Gohan's not sure he'll ever get used to that formal manner of speech. But it's not necessarily a bad thing. Just... a bit too high-class for a country hick like him. Either way, she can have a bit of a sheepish chuckle as he realizes that he did, in fact, forget to introduce himself. ]

Y-Yeah, sorry about that. I guess I was so overwhelmed by everything that I just sort of forgot.. [ Another chuckle as he strts making his way over. ] I'm Gohan.

That is perfectly understandable. It has been terribly overwhelming to suddenly be taken from our familiar realms and brought here.

[Gwendolyn is not offended by this. Normally such lack of manners would have tipped her off, but he seems so positive and peppy that she finds that perhaps that makes up for them. Even the fact that this is a male she’s speaking to and she’s smiling, less of a smirk and more of a smile… yes, there’s something different about him. He’s different. She likes that.]

‘Tis a pleasure to speak with you Gohan, and ‘twill be even more of one when we are able to spar.

I hope so!

[ Gohan said with a more genuine chuckle, beaming as he kept walking. Heck, maybe losing his powers might even make for a fairer match. After all, it would definitely make things more interesting, fighting without his usual abilities. And maybe he'd be able to learn what his limits were now that his powers were seemingly gone. That was what dad did, wasn't it? Constantly find his limits and push through them?

Maybe that was what he needed to start doing now. ]

I should be there pretty soon, so hopefully you won't be waiting too long!

Ne .. what do you mean when you say 'death is meaningless here'?

[If she could help him find his limits, then even better for her. To better a warrior for battle, well, that’s the pride of a princess who once led her father’s army. Such pride will not leave her so easily despite her sudden exile. Her wings fidgeting, she is happy to hear he is near. She craves to fight, craves a genuine challenge!]

You have not kept me waiting. In fact, I will wait as long as needed for a fight.

That to take a life would not be a gain for anyone, let along these gods who told us specifically to ‘live’.

[ oh man he so wants to head down there to watch this sdkjghsk CAN HE COME GWEN, CAN HE? ]

That makes a lot of sense! I hope everyone comes to the same conclusion.

I hope so as well. As much as I enjoy the battlefield, to take a life of one who is not fighting in the rages of war, 'twould be a crime to kill them.

Ne -- we don't have Valkyrie's in my world, not outside of legend, I mean. I'm not a fighter, but it'd be a privilege to see you at work, Oneesan!

[She wouldn't mind spectators, especially ones named 'Kaz'. It would be a good opportunity to show him just how much she should be feared! :D]

I would not mind a spectator; after all, the Arena appears to be set up so those who do not wish to participate may watch. Not everyone belongs on the battlefield.

[And being a legend. She keeps hearing of Valkyries being folklore and nothing more…

[And she will be in the arena, practicing with her spear, thrusting it into the air. Once in a while she adds more technical skills, twirling it to add more momentum to her hits. Her wings are held to her side, not quite ready to practice flight yet.]

[And she perks up a bit at being responded to her name. Perhaps what he said earlier was simply a kind greeting from his realm. If so, she won’t be offended.]

‘Tis a pleasure to speak with you, Conan, and I do hope I will not disappoint you when you so choose to come and watch me in battle.

Great! I'm coming up now though, so I'll see you in a second.

[ And with that, he shuts off the feed, grin still on his face as he looks up and walks through the arena entrance. Which was definitely a sight in and of itself, given not even the World Tournament ring held this kind of grandeur. He was wearing his father's uniform, given it was the only combat-ready clothing he had right now, but even given the fact that he was there for a spar, he still looked like a child walking into a toy store as he made his way inside, looking all around him to take in the view of everything. ]

Dad would probably love this place, wow...

I'm sure you won't! I'm looking forward to it -- see you soon!

[And Conan cuts the video feed to begin walking over]
