[Hello there, Asgard. Enjoy a message from everyone's favorite mystery writer and wannabe cop. He's currently sitting in his room, his brow furrowed in thought.]

I have a question.

[He pauses, trying to determine the most delicate way to ask this.]

What if we don't want to fight in this supposed war that is coming our way?

[This place isn't that bad. He's met some really great people that he likes. But to be honest? He cares about Beckett and Alexis. They're the only ones that he wants or needs to protect, and would be willing to give his life for. What the hell does he care about the gods and their stupid war with each other? None of this is worth any of their lives.]

What are they going to do? Pull us out of the halls and drop us into a battlefield?

[Maybe he shouldn't have said that out loud because that's probably exactly what they'd do. Castle sure as hell didn't sign up for this. And wouldn't the gods want people who were actually interested in fighting?

He wonders if a deal could be struck. What would be the price for sending he, Beckett and Alexis back home?]

You're in luck, then. For 'all-powerful beings', they're rather inept, aren't they?

I don't see how that's lucky.

They may, in fact, have no idea how to send soldiers into a war.

What are the options, as you see them?

We're here to fight a war. That's the upshot, isn't it? Every poor blighter and sod knows that by now. But I ask you, have you heard even a whisper of any battle plans? Any attack strategies? Lazy buggers for gods, ain't they?

The way I see it, we can humour them and fight the way they want us to when they finally do spring a hastily drawn up plan on us, but who is really game for that sort of rot when an attack can come as soon as tomorrow? I say we take things into our own hands.

They like to communicate with us when it's convenient for them.

How much leeway do you think we'll have to take things into our own hands?

Leeway? Do you think we need their permission?

I'm not talking about permission. If they have the power to make us do whatever they want, then there's no getting around it.

For what it's worth, I think they're powerful, but they don't have complete control over any of us.

They're terribly powerful when it comes to being mighty pricks, yes.

Those are the worst kind of powerful people.
