[Nakama's not looking quite so sickly the next time she appears on the network feed - she's been getting treatments from Dr. Watson that are at least resting her body, if not her mind. There's a figure behind her as well, hair slightly and unevenly shorn but still recognisable as Karuika Mirel. He's not exactly hiding, but it's clear that she's in charge of this post.]
Hello, everyone. Karu had an idea for another event we could do ourselves, just as travelers, and I wanted to run it past everybody and see what you thought.
If we find a good spot, we could light a controlled bonfire - sort of to represent the gift that light was to us recently - and people could write down any of their worries and concerns and throw them into the fire. I'm sure we've all got things still weighing on our mind, and it would be a way to purge yourself of them and move on.
[She glances behind her, murmuring under her breath.] Was that alright?
Perfect, Nakama. [His voice is warm and encouraging. He adjusts the red headband covering his usually obvious ears and turns to address the network himself:] Is this something transients -- ah, travelers -- would attend? I plan to string lights around the city. With any luck, they will become colored lights by the end of the night.
Think of it as rebirth.
So just let us know, okay? Thank you for listening.
((ooc: replies may come from one or both of them! If you're mean to Karu, you're guaranteed to get a Nakama, though.))

[ He doesn't mean to do anything to make this person more nervous...! Well, truthfully he's not sure if it's him or if it's something else, but either way.... ]
Ah, that's perfect. Oh -- may get your name?
My name? Oh, of course. I didn't introduce myself. I'm Bulgaria. Or Nikolay, if you find that strange.
Why would that be strange? I will call you Bulgaria if that's what you prefer. Ah - I'm Karuika. Most just say Karu.
Karu, is it? Just Karu?
Besides, it could be worse. It could be like one of those people from the backwater towns. You know the ones? With all the "first names?" [ He's looking at you, Billy Joe John, Bobby Ray, etc... ]
Ah - it's Karuika Mirel. If that's what you're asking.
[ That doesn't seem so bad. Being in the dark. At least right now. ] Names can be very confusing, it's true. I was really talking about titles though. There are many of them, and some honorifics... it can be very complicated.
Ah--! You mean like the additions of... [ Give him a minute, he's got this... ] -san and -niisan, like Japanese? Or sen... sensei? I think that was right.
The only title I have is... [ It's not one to be proud of, but nobody knows anything about where he's from. Is there really any harm in sharing? ] Uh, Mirel Ninth.
Yes, precisely those. I am not certain when it is proper to use them. Some names and titles can be very confusing.
Oh? [ Eyebrow rises a bit. ] But it is not one you go by?
Some are more formal than others. Conan told me than -san is very formal, but things like... Uh. -Chun? Nah -- -chan and -kun are more terms of endearment?
And Nakama told me that sensei is a respectful term for... ah, instructor. [ And this has been lessons in Japanese from someone who... isn't Japanese. ] Best to talk to them about it. Many here seem to be from Japan. [ And shifting gears... ]
Ah, no. Not really. It has been a while since anyone has called me that.
[ He considers this for a second. ] There do seem to be many Japanese here.
I wonder then, it is a title you do not like much?
no subject
[ He hesitates a moment, but eventually shakes his head. ]
There are worse things someone could call me. But I'm not attached to that title. I prefer just a name-basis. Or... I don't mind if some of the Japanese travelers want to use my family name. I believe it's a custom..?
no subject
[ He hears that loud and clear. ]
Yes, I think some do prefer to use your surname. We do this too, but with different titles. I have gotten confused about the right order for these things more than once since arriving.
no subject
Aha - it is not just me then... [ He rubs at the back of his neck. ] Sometimes I just take a stab in the dark with which name I am to use. Is it a sign of respect? [ He... thinks that someone said that once, but of course he cannot quite remember. ]
no subject
I believe you could say that. Everyone has been kind enough to correct me if I get it wrong. [ It's just that it's hard to know which is which and... hm. ]
