NPC POST - ODIN - VIDEO
[The fact that Odin is seated at a broad desk, hands folded in front of him, should clue in that this is a "formal" post. He doesn't come out much, so he expects everyone will pay attention. He addresses the camera with calm confidence, and speaks with little emotion.]
With the recent chaos, I'm sure you're all looking for some answers. This is what we have for you. Pay close attention, because I won't repeat it for the slow crowd.
If you hadn't already picked up on it, we are at war. Ragnarok is a prophecy made when this world, which we call Yggdrasil, was born. One day, the Giants and the Gods will fight, and the destruction will ruin the world. It will be frozen, and thawed to grow anew. This doesn't just affect us. All of your worlds are children of this one, and they'll all have to start over from nothing as well. No exceptions, no "buts" or "whys".
Some of you don't believe this. That's fine. You're still here, so you can just be concerned with your immediate safety. We've managed to source that last disaster to Muspellheim and the Fire Giants. If you don't want it to keep happening until you're all dead, you'll step up and prepare for a real battle. Thanks to your efforts, you have a whole city of reasonable people to make an army to back you, and we actually have a chance of not being destroyed.
Now, you're probably also confused about the recent arrivals. They are an army from Alfheim, and they've come to declare their allegiance for the coming war. They'll be helping us rebuild what was destroyed in the city, so you'd do well not to hinder them or harass them.
You can have whatever opinions about us that you want. You can disbelieve and whine all you want. But at the end of the day, it's your asses you're saving, so it'd be wiser to quit bitching about being uncomfortable and start working together to make sure you're not dead. Make sure you have a home to go back to when it's over.
I'm not going to stick around and argue with the lot of you, either. Maybe some of my colleagues enjoy chatting ethics with you, but I don't. So consider this all you're getting unless they're kind enough to step in. You know what you need to know. It's do or die. That's it.

And, in his stead, I will answer any further questions you may have. [ Just don't be insulting Odin, k? ]

If Muspellheim can bring in something from a traveler's world to attack us with, can they bring in travelers as well?

On the other hand, it was basically as he said. It was do or die, and regardless if she believed a lick of what he said, the fact remained that she was not about to stop fighting for her life, and the most convenient targets were clearly whatever assholes were trying to attack her rather than trying to get her to do things for them.
The latter could wait.]
Fine. Whatever. bastard I'm going to jab a thumb in Castiel's general direction since as usual it sounds like he's making some of the most sense around here. If they can drag something like that through and throw it at us, there's other possibilities for things that can get dragged in. I'm going to reverse it, however.
He dragged in something with powers, and not the bastardized parlor trick Hel gave me [Yes, still bitter.]. Does that mean you lot can do the same, or that we could if we manage to figure out the trick of it? You want weapons for this war, you'd think the possibility of getting some serious backup for the travelers and yourselves would come to mind...

[ ᴠıᴅᴇᴏ ]
You're the god of knowledge right? So... you should know all about black swan theory. There's a book called The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable in your library just so you know. [ Yeah she's been hanging out with Itsuki way too fucking much. ] But - every time we get attacked? Uh huh. Black swan. Which means it's something that could be prevented. Like everyone dying earlier this week.
Information on the people we're supposed to be fighting is worth more than anything you have to say about the city right now isn't it? You can't expect people to fight blind and only explain fatal complications after they've killed hundreds of people. I don't care if you're nice to us or if you don't answer our messages. I care that it's a bad strategy to be secretive and inconsistent in a situation like this. Especially if you want us to fight with that strategy in mind. That way of thinking is what caused the people here to lose their color in the first place, Mr. Odin. Watching the sky for white swans in...stead of looking at the water for the black before they took off. That is what's going to get everyone here killed. Not Ragnarok.
So... I'm sorry. But if I can pick out the holes and logical fallacies in this broadcast? I'm pretty sure a bunch of giants ten times smarter than me and with way more experience will see them from Muspelheim. I just found out what a toaster strudel was.

Would it just be giants steamrolling over everything, or would there be some kind of world ending explosion all at once to every universe?
Or is that up in the air?

What other options are there and who is in charge of exploring them? Can the war be avoided with diplomacy, or trade, or some kind of treaty? That's something I've been discussing with a few people lately. It seems like war is the only option being offered, but we're given no backround information except now we're told it's all based on a prophecy?
I just can't understand wanting to kill people over a prophesy.
no subject
Assume, then, that we are not fools, and that we have already made every attempt we can to do it.
Make no mistake, we are not starting this war. The giants, however, are more than happy to follow the prophecy.

That changed everything.
Arya hadn't cared less what happened to this place, as long as she and the friends she'd made here weren't hurt, but now it seemed that the Gods had forced the hand of the travellers. The survival instincts she'd trusted for so long now were telling her to keep her head down and just get along. She was a child, after all; the gods couldn't honestly expect her to fight when the time came, even though she'd proved herself more than capable. But she was still so angry about being trapped here, so wary after all the words of warning that Loki had whispered in her ear. And the prospect of the destruction of Westeros, of the deaths of Jon and her mother - the only family she had left apart from Robb, who was safe here for now, but whom they would surely force to take up their cause, and die for them, along with so many of her friends here - made her angry beyond belief.
She'd always shirked away from the gods of Asgard before, but now she was going to give them a piece of her mind.]
So this is how you're going to bully us into serving you, is it? Westeros has nothing to do with your war! So that's it, is it? We do nothing, and our worlds get destroyed. We fight for you, and our worlds get destroyed, just a little later? What sort of choice is that?
[She decides not to mention the fact that Loki's invited her along on a trip to visit the Frost Giants. She's pretty scared that the gods will obliterate her on the spot if they find that out.]

So, what does one do in a situation like this? Complain about the information and situation until one is lucky enough to have gotten the attention of any of the other rulers. Or take the other route: listen, take notes, and leave.
Well, Soushi did not want to take neither road at the moment. Instead he was going to take this one:]
Odin-sama, I know you do not wish to speak to anyone over the delicate situation at the moment. This might not be the best time to speak my mind, and I do not wish to disturb you neither by my careless words.
[Wait. Is he going to take the first option?]
For you to be the main representative of all the other rulers of this realm, you are the most elegant-dressed. It is an honor to be given the chance to finally meet the Allfather that has choosen my master to join your district. Thank you very much for choosing her for this mission. It truly is an honor to finally meet you!

Frell you and your war! This is not something any of use had a choice to be part of.

Explain to me this then, why do our powers do not work at this world? Why would activating them kill us? What is it in the structure of this world that rejects the powers we were originally born with and allows for the ones that you have bestowed upon us?
[ and something else - ]
You could have simply explained it from the start instead of simply providing us with the tale of restoring color to this world. It is not just living here and doing so, it is also functioning as your army for your war which is supposedly also our own. Why would you bring children for such a world? why men or women who have never fought a war before and if you need us so direly, why would you send some of us back into our realms? Only the worst of tyrants shall enslave children to their cause. Send them back, they do not need to see the horrors that so often happen in this city. You cannot keep people locked here away from their realms. No warrior shall fight an unjust war. If we choose to leave and go back, you should at the very least allow it.
If you truly need us, perhaps the time has come to stop behaving like arrogant fools and start actually cooperating with us instead of making such appearances when chaos occurs? Come down from wherever it is you fancy yourself to linger, propose war councils and share actual information with the Travelers who can help your cause. Before you do that and show us the respect that we deserve, you will be nothing more than tyrant deities with an army of slaves.
