001 shot. || video.

Just what in the hell d'you mean, I've been brought here t'bring color! Don't give a damn about yer decoratin', I want you to tell me where you put my daughter!

[ MY GOD is she furious. Absolutely furious. 100% ragingly wanting to kill everyone right now furious. ]

This sure as hell ain't Heaven, though, is it? Asgard. [ She scoffs, shakes her head. Mostly she's annoyed. ] If these people actually knew what I know about Norse mythology and their heathen blood-drinkin' gods...

[ Well then. Back to the point. ]

Jo? Joanna Beth Harvelle. You answer me right this second! I know you're around here somewhere, girl. Ain't a way possible you're not.
swedge: (gasp ⇏ ohhhhhhhhh)

[They can talk about that later, for now...Jo just needs to make sure. She needs to know, for sure.]

Since I actually know what's going on.

[Ellen gets a ghost of a smirk before the feed cuts, because it's true. Compared to her mom, Jo knows a hell of a lot more about this 'Asgard' and how it differs from their 'gods' back home. All from reading, sure, but it's something.

It's not until she sees her - her mom, right there - that Jo really lets herself go. She runs up to her, throws her arms around Ellen's neck, and hugs her back with just as much enthusiasm because it's true. It's her mom and she's here and she's alive. Sure, Jo has been waiting since the day she got here for this to happen, but the longer she waited...

Doesn't matter. Not anymore. And Jo is most definitely not tearing up with her face in Ellen's neck because that would be silly. She's stronger than that. She is. But she just...needs this moment. And maybe a couple more. Just so it can sink in.]
swedge: (you can say that again)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-08-23 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Jo sits and lets the moment sink in for another few seconds, with her mom's occasional hummings and the way she feels like home.

But then she comes back to her senses, and sits back from the hug - maybe even wipes her face a little - before smiling. You're here.]

Hey Mom.
swedge: (question ⇏ yes?)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-09-06 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
[It's almost as much of a relief to see her mom as it is to see she's still...her. Jo nods, collecting her thoughts.]

You got the run-down from the maids, right? About the city, bringing color back, all that?
swedge: (gasp ⇏ read the damn report)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-09-13 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Well you should, since it's true. [this is her serious face, mom. look at it.] Stuck in an [air quotes] 'alternate dimension' with a bunch of Norse Gods who aren't our Norse Gods that need us to fight a war for them.
swedge: (down ⇏ nerding)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-09-22 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ah yes. Mom's definitely back. But hey let's not talk about that right now.]

They're trying to get home. Figure out what they can about the Gods and making due until something big happens.
swedge: (question ⇏ it won't happen)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-09-23 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

[oh ouch. Hello there feelings Jo's been trying to ignore about Asgard. Thanks for that, mom.]

The gun didn't work, though. They didn't have any other options.
swedge: (question ⇏ well isn't that interesting)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-09-25 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. It's over. We- they won.

[THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT.]

Here, I can take you back to the house.
swedge: (question ⇏ it won't happen)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-10-03 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
We died, mom. I'm not leaving us out of anything.

[Jo says that a little quick. Clipped. Trying just a little too hard to sound nonchalant about it all.]

Sam, Dean, Bobby and Cas did. They took me in when I got here. [Without much of a choice on her part. Sam kind of decided it all for her. Not that she's complaining.]
swedge: (neutral ⇏ oh please tell me more)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-10-03 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
[She just keeps going, shrugging at bit at her mom's suggestion.]

Once we get jobs, maybe. For now they have an extra room. [She does brighten a bit, just glad that she's here.] They'll want to see you anyway.
swedge: (question ⇏ can i help you sir?)

[personal profile] swedge 2012-10-06 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Mom- [But Jo stopped herself from continuing. It might be this easy for her - she's forgiven them, all of them, and living with them for the past few weeks had put her in a sense of familiarity with them all. It was starting to feel like a home. Dysfunctional and screwed up, but that's nothing new.

Her mom, on the other hand...she just got here. She's still working with Carthage, with what happened to them. Jo still remembers the look in Ellen's eyes when she said she was staying with her, going to die with her baby girl.

It would take time.]

Okay. [It's fine. They'll have time to deal with that later.] We don't have to.
swedge: (question ⇏ yes?)

There's always your room, here. [Jo motions to the Welcome Hall around them. Upon remembering that this entire interaction has happened out here, out in the open, she starts to feel a little suspicious. Moving somewhere more private was definitely first priority.] You'll have it until you move out somewhere else.

[The sneaking idea Jo takes a moment to consider. Everyone at the house was fairly private - coming from their world, a closed door means a closed door. Especially since none of them were really family. If she could time it right, make sure Daphne wasn't hanging around too much...]

A chance, yeah. I'd need to double check, but no one really hangs out around the house. Especially not now.
