[Samantha opted, when setting up the feed, to go with voice only. She still looked like hell, and she didn't need anyone seeing or asking stupid questions. It wasn't their business. But, after speaking to Conan, she'd resolved that it was time to stop trying to hide from this place any further. When she spoke, her voice had a tired quality to it, but was still strong.]

So, Asgard.

I wanted to discuss something with those of you who will still speak with me right now. These powers that we have. Most of the people I see seem to think of them as a good thing, a blessing of sorts, or at least they partially make up for the tricks you had in your homeworlds. Right.

Here's the thing I wanted to talk about. Most I've spoken to seem to think of these powers as something that's being used to help other people around here, or to protect people that can't protect themselves. How do you people handle the fact that any of them can be abused, misused or mishandled? What do people around here do to prepare themselves to be protected if those powers get used for the wrong reasons? I've been thinking a lot lately about how people could protect themselves from some of these powers, and it worries me.

Not all of us are nice people, you know.

We're stuck in this gilded cage for a while, Jonah. Plenty of time to observe, trust me. Just don't be too nosy. I get iffy when people get really nosy. Kinda don't like people prying much, honestly. Having a crazed psychopath for another half doesn't help.

Don't worry, I'm not going to go and bother you. But I doubt your other side could catch me if I did manage to piss it off, though.

Well, pissing it off is less a problem than it liking you, but I take it by that you're in Thor house?

Yeah. I got the speed power. I've been using it a lot and it's pretty useful.

I know a couple people with it. You're right. Time it right, and you'll be out of my range long before there's a problem. Kind of a handy power if you ask me.

Yeah, it's good for an escape.

It makes getting around in general pretty easy, too.

Yeah. I'd say I'm jealous, but it's not something worth worrying about really. Definitely something to build up if you can. The faster you go, the better after all. Who knows, maybe you'll outrun Ragnarok.

You know, this is reminding me of a scene from a movie I saw at home. Superhero ran so fast he turned back time to fix his mistakes. Was kind of silly, honestly, but just reminded me of it a little.

[If she knew his boss and coworkers, she'd understand completely.]

That does seem really silly. I don't think you could do that no matter how fast you could run.

It was pretty damned silly. Little funny to think of though, talking about outrunning the end of the world.

Yeah, it is. But we all think of strange things, don't we?

We've all been kidnapped by ancient norse gods to drag into some dying world in order to save it from fire giants and frost faeries with a grand hugging contest.

Is it really a surprise we think of odd things? Heh.

Though I don't worry too much about the gods and all that.

Good for jokes, but there's other more pressing concerns right in front of us. I know what's got my attention today. I'm guessing you do too.

Fair enough, I stand corrected. I'm mostly thinking about how to get this thing started, since a couple people seem at least a little interested.

See if they want to set up some sort of group, maybe?

Already sort of working with Merlin's group, so I'll probably tack it on with them. I think the ones I've met are ok with him, so there's that.
