001 audio;

[Right, so no video from Euri! Just audio, because her run-in with a certain spidery douchebag has her slightly paranoid. She doesn't want more people mistaking her for a citizen of this city. That was just embarrassing.]

I'll make this quick, since I doubt most of you will be useful! [Since you all seem to be mostly humans. Ew.]

First! Is there anyone else here who's from Fuggum? [She sounds pretty flippant as she continues. Asking feels awkward, and explaining is a hassle.] If you don't know what it is then you're obviously not someone I'm looking for, and I'm not about to talk about it to any of you, so don't ask.

Second, where can I get a cauldron? For cooking, since I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to do that when these houses don't even have a single fireplace or fire pit. [This has absolutely nothing to do with trying to brew potions, nosir. Just perfectly normal non-Witchy cooking.]

Finally... [She just sounds confused now.] What's a 'spa'? Is it something you can eat?

[switching to video and giving Euri a wave so she can see him in all his short, seven-year-old glory.]

I don't think you need to worry about that, Oneechan! Not from me!

But if you're still worried, I can give you a demonstration from here -- can you see me okay?

((ooc: awesome! Cheers.))

Oh-nee-chan! Where I'm from, it's the polite way to greet a girl older than you whose name you don't know.

[Conan -- and his accompanying video feed -- makes his way to Hel's kitchen. The layout is just like that of the other Welcome Halls, so he hopes that his audience will be able to recognise it. He pats the stove's side.]

Here we are! This is the stove -- it should already be turned on at the wall, so I'm going to turn it on up here ... [Conan drags a chair over so that he can reach the dial.] Done!

[He tilts his bracelet so that his audience can see the element starting to heat.] That's already getting warm, see!

Most of the appliances -- ah, that's a word that describes the machines in the kitchen -- operate on electricity. That's power that's fed to them through this cord.

[Conan jumps off his chair and kneels down so that his audience can see the cord and the plug it connects to.] You can control the flow of power to the device through this switch. On, the power can connect, you can use the device. Off, it has no power, it can't be used.

While we're down here, I'm going to get the pot I told you about! Um ... let's see ... Was it this cupboard?

[identity profile] holmes-fanatic.livejournal.com 2011-12-20 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Conan pulls out a pot, lugging it back up the chair and onto the bench to fill with water from the tap.]

This is the sink -- you turn on the water like this. Cold water is this tap, hot water this tap. We're going for cold so that you get the full benefit of this demonstration ...

Now, are you watching? You don't want to miss this.

[Pot? Meet element.]

I can turn up the heat, just like turning up the flame, or adding more wood to a fire here ... [Indicating the knob.] You can cook using the pot much like you'd cook with your cauldron, I imagine! Stews, soups, curries, rice -- you can do it all like this.

Look! The water's beginning to boil!

Think you'll be able to cook with this, Oneechan?

[identity profile] holmes-fanatic.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
You're welcome.

You never told me your name, you know.

Euri-neechan! It's nice to meet you.

Ah, I don't need to cook anything, so I'm going to turn this off now -- unless you have any further questions?
