[And after a whole afternoon of exploring and using this new bracelet of hers to answer some questions of her own, Eve has finally sat down somewhere in her respective Welcome Hall to scan the network. It seemed like another social tool, albeit a freakish and magical one, so she figured it would be a good idea to make use of it.

Making sure she looks confident and presentable, she turns on the video function with a friendly smile. If she was going to do this, she was going to do it right and without looking like a total newbie.]

Y'know, when I started to do my Christmas to-do list, I guess I must have forgotten to include "get kidnapped by Norse mythology". My bad. [Laughing, just a bit. She's actually annoyed by this, but she won't let it show any time soon.] Anyways... this is for introductions, right? Right.

Name's Eve Samson. Human, 17, and from a small watery planet known as Earth. I doubt there's many of you haven't heard of it. [Seeing as the majority of the people she spotted looked human, of course. But maybe that was just an assumption, all things considered.] Not... that it matters much, since I'm not there anymore. I was placed in some district called Baldr, and I dunno what that means, but I'm guessing I should be thankful I'm not in the one named after the dude who banged a horse. I think.

[Smoooooth, gurl, sharing her teeny fraction of Norse mythology knowledge right there. She pauses for a moment, as if trying to decide what to say next, before sighing and continuing.]

I already looked through this for some answers, so I'll skip the newbie questions and get to the juicy bits. Two juicy bits, to be precise.

One, how many of you here aren't human? I want names, species and current status. [Saying this like she's completely and utterly entitled to this information, yep...] And, two... does anyone know where to find a medieval Burger King or something like that? I'm starving.

[His face brightens and he nods. Then the camera goes erratic for a few dizzying moments until it steadies, showing him holding his sword in his hand.]

[Taking great care to examine that sword carefully. She's always been fascinated by them, even if she's never gotten to hold one for longer than a couple of minutes.]

Whoa, look at that. Did it come with you, or did you find a way to get it here?

It came with me, for I was wearing it along with my uniform when I arrived.

That's a damn good stroke of luck. Saves you the trouble of wondering what you're going to defend yourself with.

Is there someone here against whom we must defend ourselves? It seems quite the peaceful place.

Don't know about you, but from what I've heard, we're here to fight a war. Things are not going to stay as peachy keen forever.

Truly? I thought we were meant to bring color into this gray and dismal world. Tell me, if you please, whom are we meant to be fighting?

I can't really say. Still sketchy on the details, but-- from what I was told, it involves at least flaming monsters. [She says this... so casually, sobs.]

Flaming monsters? They, [he swallows nervously] they wouldn't happen to be called balrogs, would they?

Sorry, but I haven't the slightest idea. The person who told me, they just called them flaming monsters.

Well. Then it is indeed a bit of luck that I have my sword.

I'd say. Even luckier if you're not afraid of a couple of monsters.

Ah, yes, well. I've faced plenty before.

[And if he wasn't being quite ego-stroking at the moment, he'd say that it's not that he isn't afraid of the monsters; it's that he faces them despite that fear.]

Lucky you, because I think this place is going to need all the experience it can get.

I would be happy to fight in their stead, for I have experience. It is a hard thing to find oneself thrown into battle without preparation.

You can say that again. It would have been nice if they threw all of us in here with weapons, too.

You would think if a war was looming, they would craft weapons for everyone.

I guess whoever these gods are, they aren't battle tacticians.

Perhaps not, or perhaps they are preoccupied with other great, lordly thoughts. It must be incredibly busy, being a god, don't you think?

Maybe, maybe not. If they're real gods, can't they just snap a finger and have everything they need done?

Hmm, I cannot say for certain! I've never met a god before, but I've known Men and Wizards with great power. And even the Wizard had to exert himself most of the time.
