2nd Battle | VIDEO

[ he may as well use this damn network for research. ]

If you were to take loyalties to a king, what kind of king would you want them to be? Would you think better if they were harsh or if they were wise? What sort of person would you lend your allegiances too?

[ It's a general topic. he's curious to hear the opinions of people around him. he seems less rigid than when he first arrived. the break from all the battles has done well on him. he's not uneasy and robb speaks with a warm confidence. ]

A leader who expects no more out of the people working below him than he expects of himself. One who commands from the battlefield rather than within the safety of stone walls. Some knowledge of how to manage money, or a willingness to defer that task to someone who will be responsible with it is good as well.

You misunderstand. I did not say the king must be rich. I said 'some knowledge of how to manage money'. A leader must be responsible with money so as not to bring those under his or her command to ruination.

[She pauses for a moment. It's probably better to explain with an example, and what better than that of a just king.]

Suppose there was a king who was renowned throughout the land for his compassion and commitment to justice. No just cause is too small for him to lead a campaign and set things right. But yet, he and his troops must eat, and there are many other expenses to consider. Shelter, weapons, medicine...for a time, the common people who support him might be able to provide these things out of love and respect for him.

[She offers a small smile.]

However, if he continues to use up resources without giving back and without any sort of reprieve, eventually people will tire of it. And this is assuming that the king's compassion and sense of justice are nigh flawless.

A rich king is not necessarily versed in handling coin. He could be taking over from a prosperous predecessor. A better measure is how the kingdom fares years into his reign.

[Ikaruga manages not to chuckle at the idea of any leader she served under being known for their compassion. Those kinds of leaders didn't lead mage guilds that took assassination jobs.]

A compassionate leader? Not particularly, no. I was merely trying to illustrate how even an ideal leader must take care to be responsible with money to ensure that those under his command prosper.

I already gave you my definition when I first replied. It's a standard I've tried to hold myself to as a guild leader.

My guild has one hundred and three members. Death's Head Caucus is a mage guild. Every single member is able to use some sort of magic.

[She adds in a further explanation because a lot of people here don't seem to know what a mage guild does.]

Mage guilds are hired for various tasks, including hunting dangerous monsters, acting as bodyguards, or lifting curses.
