HELP WANTED
Yakuzen Clinic, established Day 39, provides a traditional treatment service for those in need. We pride ourselves on our personal service and professionalism.
POSITIONS VACANT:

Secretary.
Exceptional organisational, managerial and business skills; good manner with patients, ability to maintain a calm and professional manner in the midst of Asgard's many surprises. Healing or Damage Drain preferred but not essential.

Medical Staff.
All positions, prior experience and methods welcomed. Healing or Damage Drain preferred but not essential; prior experience a must.

Pharmacist.
In-house pharmacist required to produce and source medicines in response to the Doctor's orders and assist in the instruction of interns. Healing or Damage Drain preferred but not essential; prior experience a must. Must be strong of will and robust of personality.

Nanny/Housekeeper.
Must have a sense of humour and patience of a saint. Ability to cook, manage a house, clean and subdue difficult individuals. Able to tolerate tobacco, violin and dogs. Details upon enquiry.

[ Really Watson? ]

I normally hold no objections, but a man has standards - friend. It is an utterly suspicious matter that of all the nannies you choose to hire, you select the one that is blond, insufficiently clothed and who's first name is Mary.

[ a beat. ]

You're bringing that up, really?

[minifridge]

[WHOA THERE. Mary rounds on Holmes, looking sufficiently offended to cover up her embarrassment at basically being called a tramp in front of a potential employer.]

Hey! With all due respect, Detective, watch your mouth.

Indeed.

[Watson's going to ignore the allusions to his ~*fiancee*~ and instead draw Mary a chair. Look, Mary! One of them has manners.]

Since Mary has so kindly offered us her time by coming over here tonight, I think we should get down to business. I consider her suitably qualified, do you have any questions, Companion?

Or perhaps you have some for us, Mary?

[deductions]

[ Taking a chair with them, he presses his fingers together for a moment. ]

[ Shooting Watson a pointed look. ]

I need to know that you are capable of holding secrets together. [ He's also snorting inside, trying to see how long before you drop the word 'companion'. ] At times, the nature of our line of work is dipped in secrecy. Back home - if that statement rings any truth, we had dealt with a wide spectrum of clients. Some as illustrious as the King of Bohemia himself.

Your discretion is paramount to your employment.

[minifridge]

Thanks. [She nods to Watson when he pulls the chair out, and sits down.] I do, but later.

[Because then it's time for Holmes to talk. Mary's eyebrows slowly climb towards her hairline during his little speech, and honest to God she spends half of it wondering why she's surrounded by so many yummy British accents.

At the end, she's paying enough attention to visibly resist the urge to roll her eyes.]

Mr. Holmes- I already told you, I've spent all my life keeping secrets. [Beat.] What could you possibly be doing here that's that secret? Are you trying to hide what you're doing from the gods?

[Well, Mary certainly got points for taking Holmes' manner in stride, even more for her business-like attitude, immediately getting to grips with her questions. Resuming his own chair, Watson settled back to observe the interview.

He couldn't help but smirk at the 'Mr. Holmes' -- rumbled already?]

Mary makes a rather strong point, I feel.

[deductions]

[ Holmes observes more than the interview naturally. Both John and Mary are put under some level of scrutiny. He doesn't enjoy the fact, his name is put on display like a beacon against the dim sky. He has reasons for keeping his name a private matter, however frequently they are discarded. He moves to lift a pipe out of his robe and tuck it in between his lips. Lighting it with a snap of fingers. A misuse of power, perhaps. But why remain idle and not use the 'gifts' the gods have graced them with? ]

It is not the gods I hide from.

[ he says tartly. ]

What business, after all, do they have in meddling in mortal affairs? [ taking a puff before moving the pipe away from his mouth. ] I worry about much more than that.
