((ooc: ooc clinic info post is here! Let me know if the font is annoying -- I may have gotten carried away. I can't tell anymore.
ETA: I suspect 2/2 secretary positions are filled, as is the pharmacist spot! Don't let this put you off getting in touch if you're interested however -- we might be able to come up with a position for you.))

video;
That would be appreciated. I have finished my work-load for the day so I can come over whenever you wish me to.
I am speaking with..Mister Watson?
video;
Your work-load? How do you occupy your time in Asgard? And any time from now would be suitable. You'll find us in Heimdall, a short detour from the main road. From Loki, you turn [directions go here].
Doctor is my professional title, but yes, that is me. I have the pleasure of talking to ... ?
video;
That is fortunate as I am residing in Heimdal. I should be there within the hour, Doctor Watson.
And my name is Ja'far [ less Disney and more 1001 Nights here, thankfully. We don't look like we'd grow beards any time soon ] I have no other name to add to that.
[ If you want to continue this here then you can expect Ja'far to appear half an hour later in the clinic. He's not the tallest of people, but his robes and his keffiyeh kind of stick out. He'll look calm and at ease, even in such unfamiliar surroundings ]
video;
Having dismissed the staff in order to devote his afternoon to interviews, it's Watson himself who leaves the office to greet Ja'far.]
Mr Ja'far? It's a pleasure. Dr John Watson, at your service.
video;
[ And he bows at this, arms crossed high above his chest, his head lowering. The motion is meant to be demure, but there is nothing honestly shy about it; more of a habit done well. He'll stay like this, for a moment.
Ja'far does notice and appreciate the precision, not believing that work has to be something overly welcoming. ]
video;
You seem like a man who prefers to get down to business so I shall do so. This is the secretary's office. This first table is where you'll greet patients on their arrival, take the details to pass on to the nurse and interns, and the desks behind are for you and the other secretary. You've each got your own desk so you can work on your own projects undisturbed.
video;
[ And he follows, never stepping close at all and rather to your back than your front ]
Details would include their names and their reason for their being here? The other colleagues, do they need to be summoned or will they be waiting close by?
video;
[Watson opens the door to a third room, stocked with chairs, tables and screens, obviously provided to allow for patient privacy. Again everything is set out methodically, and it is set up to allow more than one patient to be interviewed at a time.]
At the moment we have one nurse, Mr Williams, and three interns, Ichigo, Seth and Hatsuharu. The lads are learning the basics of medicine in order to apply their powers more effectively. On that note, since you said you did not possess the magic, that you would have energy lending ... ? Have you had the opportunity to use your power?
action;
[ Ja'far takes a few steps into the room, then seems to grow clearly more curious as he begins to inspect everything more closely. For himself, he is trying to make sense of the arrangements, to see a pattern - he is also counting the steps it takes to cross the room, to reach different screens and tables. ]
It would be useful if I could see them at least once before I begin working here. I am not comfortable with allowing strangers into rooms merely because they introduce themselves with a name I have heard of.
I did have that opportunity, yes [ a sharper look back at that - this is someone who has been thrown out of his own thoughts here (but that might be for the best, really) ] I cannot say that it was a pleasant experience.
Could it be of assistance here? I have only seen it used for nonsensical things so far...
action;
Certainly. If you'd like to stop by any time tomorrow, you can observe the clinic in action and we'll introduce everyone. Although we open to patients at 9:00 am, I'm suggesting that people arrive around 8:30 for our morning meeting so that we have some time to get our newcomers settled in. In addition to Lady Cavendish who has accepted the other secretary position, we have two new interns joining us -- Miss Sasamori and Miss Jasmine.
As for your ability, it could be very helpful. We've noticed that particularly when they're new to it, using a person's power is very tiring and they exhaust their reserves quickly. With your help, if you do not object, our interns could potentially practice using their powers more.
action;
I am glad to hear this. Not to mention that it is generally wise to have a time period meant for reorganisation within the working group...my past experience has taught me that people with demands should be given as much attention as possible, otherwise they will turn restless. They deserve that much as well, if they come here.
These names are all new to me, but that will not be a problem. Lady Cavendish and I will be informed about what kind of questions we need to ask?
....that is a great relief, honestly. I feared that I had been cursed with a power that could do little to aid!
action;
[Watson leads the way back to the secretaries office. Guess who forgot to mention the various bookshelves and filing cabinets at the back of the room, behind the two desks? That's right -- this mun.]
Naturally. As a matter of fact, we had an Asgard citizen temporarily filling in for us. We made a list for her. You'll find in on the desk, there, though I'll go over it in more detail with you and Lady Cavendish tomorrow. She has a great amount of experience in society, so I think I shall give primary greeting responsibilities to her, while asking you to take care of scheduling -- you also expressed interest in seeing our current schedule, I believe?
I'm confident that you'll be of great use to all of us, Mr Ja'far.
action;
[ that is not a question, rather a belief. And everything is fine-! The desks are still here, as are the cabinets even after their detour (and after this mun conked out for a day because she is battling germs and sickness) ]
I see no issues with that. There is no need to worry about my experience in such matters as I have welcomed foreign kings and princesses as well as merchants of high status, but I do better with direct work...that is to say, I am more than content with the arrangement but please do not worry about asking me to do what is necessary.
[ He sounds troubled at the notion, even though his words before that were confident and self-assured (not arrogant, really, but they certainly might sound like that). Someone clearly does not like the idea of not being trusted to work, even though his temper would ...prove to be a magnificent disaster at times ]
Regardless, it is good to know that you will have help that is experienced in such matters. Being knowledgeable in society is like being able to fight with a sword in each hand and one at your throat.
[ his expression is very mild at that, not because he has no opinion here but - this is not said to show his own hand. This is his own curiosity about the person who will employ him ]
I did wish to see it, yes. [ no comment about the reassurance. Make of that what you wish ]
action;
[Watson raised an eyebrow at Ja'far's answer.] Oh, it's not a question of experience. The reason we have two secretaries is that there is work for two, and I imagine you'd be more efficient if you both have specific responsibilities. Naturally, when Lady Cavendish is occupied elsewhere in the clinic or taking her day off, you'd take over greeting patients, as she will take up the paperwork when you are absent.
Our current schedule is here.
[((ooc: ignore the schedule in the clinic info post -- that was put there by the original owner and I've been pondering how to revise it. The only person there until 8 is Watson. 8:30 everyone assembles for a meeting and to prep the clinic for the day. There is an hour break for lunch for everyone and another half an hour to be taken whenever people like, and most of the staff go home at 5 -- including the secretaries. The interns are part time, and a couple will stay on to assist Watson, but after 5, it's pretty slow, just in case of stragglers/emergency cases. One person stays overnight in the clinic and that's about it.
action;
[ That is, almost, the tone of a kid at Christmas; clearly someone is happy at the prospect of something to do, of working himself in. Still, Ja'far misses that look and the facial acrobatics; his best friend is his King, capital letters and all. Normal, there you have it. ]
The logic behind this promises to be sound. The bracelets could be of help as well...
[((ooc; Thank You! This sounds like everyone takes lunch at the same time? Wouldn't that be unusual? Does the same person stay overnight, or how does it rotate? ))]
action;
((ooc: Not too unusual, I think -- especially as there is only one doctor and so no patients can be seen when Watson has his lunch break. The one-doctor clinics in my town generally take their last morning admission around 11:30, finish the morning intake of patients between 12/12:30, take lunch, catch up on paperwork, preparation for the afternoon patients and open again for the afternoon around 2. The secretaries staggering their lunches so that there is always someone in the office makes sense though!
Staying overnight is only an option for members of the staff with considerable medical experience/a healing power. I think it's a turn by turn system, but I've never sat down and worked it who is actually doing it and when. John Watson from the BBC series also stands in occasionally, as does Castiel.))
action;
[ but the words trail away here; Ja'far has already got his hands on one of the folders somehow, and he is clearly absorbed. Does not seem that he's planning to sit down any time soon.
((Hm, I see! Good, Ja'far will see this more directly for himself now.
And that makes sense!. Ja'far would merely pay attention to who stays overnight as this is a special shift. ALSO, Thank You again for the lengths you went to here! If you ever need Ja'far for a log or some such thing- you know how to get me. ]
action;
((ooc: my absolute pleasure, seriously! I'm really glad for your questions getting me to pull my thoughts together -- I'm sure that once I get myself organised to update the clinic info, this conversation will be the basis for a lot of it!))
