To those who wield fire:

I would like to know the extent of your control over fire as well as whether or not your abilities have increased significantly since you arrived in Asgard. And, if your abilities have increased, was it due to practice or did it happen naturally?

I suppose those inquiries could apply to any power, but I would like to compare notes with another fire user if at all possible.

The night sky sure is lovely. [She tilts her bracelet so that everyone can see the heavens.] Would it be silly to make a wish if I see a shooting star?

Or, simply, fulfill one of our many wishes. [She knows it sounds childish and silly.] It's something children do in my world.

It's a streak of light across the night sky. One minute, a star will blaze brighter and then it will go out and fall from the heavens.

Oh! Wow... that's wonderful. [ Her voice is in awe. Well, Sophie is pretty much like a child, so... ] It's not silly. You should definitely make a wish when you see one.

I see. I think I might have seen them before, but I didn't know we could make wishes...

You should try it. [It's nice to talk to someone so pure and innocent.] What would you wish for if you saw one?

I want to try it! [ And it doesn't take much thought for her to come up with a wish. It was something she was already thinking about. ] I'd wish to become human and... I'd wish for my friendship with everyone to last forever, even after we leave Asgard.

You're not...human? [It's rude to ask "what are you", but she is curious.] I would like if that came true.

Yes, it would be great. I'm going to have to keep a look out for shooting stars now.

And they call me a humanoid where I'm from. I only look human... but I can't grow or anything like that. [ She doesn't mind explaining. It has come up so many times with others already and she's usually honest with what she says. ]

I have emotions but, I'm not... very good at them sometimes. I know I can feel sad, happy, angry... [ She can feel emotions beyond that, but she hasn't exactly learned the proper words for them. ]

I'd wish...to keep the friends I've made in Asgard, but also for my friends back home to be safe and happy. [Even if she can't be there.] I'd also wish for the wars to end.

[She smiles softly.] Then I would consider you a human.

...hee hee. [ She doesn't quite agree with that, especially since she can't die like others... but she forces a meek smile. ] Thank you.

[Hermione takes a breath.] There are all sorts in the city. I don't think anyone should consider themselves less than someone else. You're alive and you feel. Those are two of the most important parts to being human.

...I understand. I know I'm alive and I can feel, but... I won't die. [ It's a lonely feeling. It hurts her to bring it up again, but she's trying to accept it. ] I'm still trying to find something I can do about it.
