004:// text + video
[After getting back from the camping trip with most likely second degree burns coating her palms the first thing Lisbeth did was sleep for a few hours. After waking up with a horrible headache and what she could mildly self-diagnose as a low-grade fever she decided it was time to stop sucking it up. Her hands and arms hadn't been treated and the hour directly after being burned she rubbed her hands in cold dirt.
Time to get a doctor or a person with damage-drain on hand. (Hah.)]

video to all;
[To prove she's not lying and to have the severity of her burns diagnosed better, Lisbeth has the video turn over to her hands which are blistered, red and swollen to look at. Normally she has thin, dainty, breakable fingers but the digits are thick and there are black fibers in the skin of her palm from where her gloves melted to them for a few seconds. It was enough time to be painful. She needs her hands, they're her trade and how she communicates and she needs them.
It's a wonder she can type at all but it only proves how stubborn she really is.]

Over the bracelet it was easier, she didn't have to be next to him. But he was walking her to the hospital...it'd be rude to just leave - much as she wanted to.
"If this was the real world it'd be much easier to find her."
It's a horrible thing to say, really. But it's all she can think of.

He sighed again.
"Anyway. I'm sorry you got burned. Burns are awful."
Castle had touched a pot once while cooking and nearly scalded the skin of his hand off. He could hardly write for a week.

She's carefully tiptoeing around this conversation. If Castle was to pick up on anything from the proximity around Lisbeth it would be trepidation peppered with gratitude.
"Thank you. For coming with me," it's delivery is awkward at best and she only glances at him once while she mutters it but she succeeds against spooking herself and she gave a proper thank you too. Not bad.

"You're welcome. Going to a hospital sucks even worse when you're by yourself."

"You said you were a writer."

If she was so interested in the case they were working here then she was probably the type to read mystery novels.

"Never heard of them," there's absolutely no apology in it. "They must sell well."
After all if he expected her to know about them then he must have a wide audience.

Maybe he shouldn't be so surprised. He didn't think his distribution was that high in Sweden anyway.
They stood outside the door to the hospital and he glanced at her, waiting to see if she was going to go in. He couldn't force her to do it.

If her fingers weren't burned she'd be drumming them against her leg now, like a nervous dog she wanted to pace but Lisbeth knew she'd have to take the plunge.
She sucked her lower lip into her mouth to worry with her teeth as she stepped across the threshold. She could do this - it wasn't that big of a deal.
She glanced at Castle nervously, wondering if he'd come in or just bid her good luck and be on his way.

He would go in with her, just like he had with Alexis, if Lisbeth wanted him to. He took a step closer to the hospital and waited to see what she did in response.

"Do I sign paperwork or something? Because that might be a problem."
Besides, she'd never checked herself in before. It was either police or friends.

He walked with her to the counter, trying to get the attention of one of the nurses.
sharing npc ftw?
Lisbeth hangs back while Castle tries to get one of the staff's attention. A young lady responds, a little more colorful than her counterparts and therefore a little more responsive.
"Yes, sir?" She smiles and looks attentive, maybe she'll be able to help.
that's fine
The nurse looked at Lisbeth's arms and nodded.
"Oh yes, we've had a few already. We'll be happy to take care of her," she said, handing Lisbeth a clipboard. "Just write your name here and someone will call you shortly."
"Can you do it?" Castle asked after the woman had walked away.
/scree castle wrai u do dis
He'd called her his friend. It was always extremely shocking to her when people did this. As rare as it happened, she should be. But compared to the length of time that the few others took to call her that - even casually - of course brought up the thought that he was simply calling her that for the sake of making things simpler for the nurse. Why go into explaining their acquaintance when he could simply say 'friend' and get it over with?
She was over-thinking this, clearly too invested in the word. It didn't mean anything. It was just a word and she needed to remind herself of that and not get so excited the next time someone said it around her. How ridiculous.
"I don't think so."
She's not even going to attempt lifting the clipboard from the counter. Instead she just stares - silently wishing she'd been put in the house that had the drawing powers.
aww lisbeth
He picked up the clipboard and the pen, then glanced back up at her.
"Spell your name for me."
/sob so i'd like to continue this thread but if you don't is okay o/
i absolutely do!
"Interesting name."
He handed the clipboard back to the nurse and they waited for Lisbeth to be called.

Wasp, Irene Nesser, Sally - all those came later and they had more meaning than Lisbeth Salander. The only thing tied to Salander was a bad record and documentation of a horrible past.
And now, in Asgard, a hospital visit. She just hoped that they would never be allowed to access something from home.

He vastly enjoyed seeing it on covers of books - moreso than he would have if he had stuck with Rodgers.

The nurse returned to the lobby and called her name.
"Do you want me to go back with you?"
