[A handsome, wild-eyed, middle-aged man with a pencil thin moustache appears, then goes in and out of focus a bit as he rapidly moves his bracelet closer to and away from his face.]

Is this on? Marvelous technology, really! Tish, did they give you one? I think it would look better on you, but ah, I don’t suppose we have a choice! Like a manacle, a chain, binding us to this place to be used like chattel, forced into unspeakable acts- querida, I must find you, and soon. [smoldering look]

Fester, old man, where have you gotten to? And the children, and Grandmama, and Lurch, and Thing? This room is remarkably empty. Oh, well, it’s like a scavenger hunt! I offer a reward to anyone who can hear this message, ten doubloons and a fine cigar to anyone who can find a member of my family! Haha!

[Ah, Gomez, wherever you go, she is there. And here is no exception. It's just a matter of fiddling, for a moment, to get the feed open.]

Gomez. [She quirks an eyebrow, smiling darkly.] It's unspeakable, isn't it.

[Ah, there she is, his entrancing wife. Gomez smiles back, his eyes full of smoldering longing.] Ghastly. Unnerving. Tish, where are you?

Ah, an excellent point, young fellow! Yes, let's see ...

My brother, Fester, has always been something of a lady-killer, though never convicted! He's quite dashing, and I've always been jealous of his smooth coiffure. Wednesday is a charming little lady, eleven years old, very well put together and resourceful, never without her butcher knife. We're so proud of her! Pugsley's a bit younger, and I'm afraid he's quite the little rascal. He has his grandfather's eyes, and he'd be more than happy to bring them out for anyone who asked. Grandmama is [pauses, raises an eyebrow] very old, Lurch is very tall, and Thing is extraordinarily handy.

As for my wife ... [his eyes goes dark and misty] She is the most bewitching, exquisite, chilling woman to ever walk this plane of existence. Her hair is like a moonless night, her skin as pale and lovely as a corpse, her lips blood kissed, her eyes ... oh, her eyes! [It's pretty clear he could go on in this vein for some time, unless interrupted.]

[Conan has his notebook out and was making notes -- but this soon stops so he can instead stare sceptically at Gomez instead.

As Gomez's rapturous account of his wife continues, however, Conan has to interrupt.]

Ah, I can only write so fast, um -- you never mentioned your name.

I am an Addams. [with a proud lift of the chin] Gomez Addams! And to whom am I speaking?

[Isn't he quite the charmer.] It's certainly nothing like the technology I saw in my world.

Are you looking for your family, sir?

[The video flicks on--he's getting better at this, he swears. Pausing he arches an eyebrow beneath his mask.] You've got a nice way of talkin'.

Much better than most of the people whining all the time 'round here!

Ah, yes! The nemesis of Thoth-Anon! [grins manically] The pleasure is all mine.

Excellent guess! Yes, indeed, I suppose I shall explore this city a bit, but I must eventually reunite with them.

And you, sir, a handsome mask. [rubbing his chin thoughtfully, then arching his eyebrow with suddenly devilish look] Is there a masquerade ball going on at the moment?

[Gomez does so love to dance.]

Maybe you're thinking of another Edogawa Conan, Addams-san!

Ne, you've been told you're staying in Hel?

Haha, yes, it'll be a few years before you'd make a proper barbarian. [looks amused] Staying in Hell, though? This is a vacation!

At this point I can only aspire.

Not Hell -- Hel. After the Norse goddess -- she's our apparent hostess.

Ah, I see what you mean. But no, I'm afraid that lovely creature is not hosting me. I believe I am in the domain of ... [dramatic pause] Freya.

[Well there goes Conan's theory that all the weirdoes end up in Hel.]

[he smile.] Thank, sir. If you explain me how they look like I will be able to tell you if I saw them around the city.

You like it? [A smirk crawls across his face--he can tell he's going to like this fellow already.] Why thank yah! It's porcelain, always worn it, always should but sadly it's for no masquerade, only for my own choice in attire.

After all, bein' a mystery is often important. We should have one though--I would have a costume already.

[Yeah, Gomez is weird, and even morbid, but romance is his life.] Indeed. I'm a little confused, myself, but an Addams always lands on his feet! But I'm sure as soon as I find my family, we'll choose a humble abode for all of us together.
