[ anyone passing through thor district may find one (1) lancer making conversation with the resident rude snowman-- where 'conversation' means 'a snowman hurls insults while a knight is polite'. ]

I assure you, snowman, my attire was not meant to offend you. [ but no matter what he says, all he seems to get is more comments on how stupid his armor looks... and his hair, too. ] Nor will dumping snow in my hair prove to be a substantial improvement. If you continue to provoke me needlessly, I will be happy to give you a reason to do so.

[ eventually he lasts the five minutes and recieves his reward: and despite everything previously said, he's sure to thank the icy creation sincerely before leaving with the gift. ]

[ shortly after after passing the snowman's 'test', lancer shows up on the network with a wooden box in hand. curiously, he opens it, pulling out his silver mug and jar of tea. ]

... Has anyone else recieved a gift today? [ he already knows he's not the only one, but he's still curious about the variety. ] Whatever their disposition, I believe these snowmen have good intentions. Whether this is some kind of test I cannot say, though it is probably easier to simply hear them out than to try and argue.

[ a beat, and then-- ]

Saber, would you like some tea? [ there's enough here to share, after all. ]

As much that can be learned in such a brief time. Though the pursuit of knowledge is better left to those other than myself, I'd like to understand more about such an unusual place.

I would like to understand more as well. [Though for a slightly different reason.] It seems like a great deal might depend upon it.

May I ask you to share what you know? About the Houses, that is.

You may, though I suspect there would be better people to ask. [ like those nerds over in odin... ] Those within each house seem to share various similarities with one another-- Thor has a wide variety of residents, but most appear to have some degree of experience on the battlefield. These traits appear to mirror the patron god of each house: I must confess to still being unfamiliar with many of the gods here, but those I do know of support this theory.

There have been a few efforts to understand the patterns to those brought to the city -- to use the same thinking for Houses makes sense, and I've heard several say the same thing. In that case, what is your impression of your own House?

That person sounds rather wise, then. [ it might not apply in this kind of situation just yet, given how freely most people have been sharing what they know so far, but the point still stands. ] Those who possess information often have reason to keep it hidden.

My impression of my own house is that many of these warriors possess little restraint or manners, though most seem rather reasonable at heart. Given their pasts, it appears Thor is a place for those used to fighting battles.

Meanwhile, that description of Thor makes him raise an eyebrow and fight down a snicker on top of it.]

Well, there do seem to be a large number of people who like to leap before they look. [Made the snowmen fiasco at least a little bit entertaining.] That means you are a soldier too, sir?

Indeed. It's been the undoing of quite a few, in my experience. [ both in battles and everyday life... it pays to be smart and think ahead, sometimes. ] As for myself-- I am a knight, though I suppose the sentiment is somewhat similar. [ being a knight sounds so much manlier and more chivalrous, though. he likes that better. ]
