So. Kidnapping women and children, and then building snowmen for us to play with! [The laughter rises and falls eerily, choking past their gritted teeth.] Oh, how rich! Well, at least you can say you put a smile on our face! We’ll wring your necks while we chuckle about it!

[They pause for a moment, claws scraping against the floor.] We must admit, we've never seen moving snowmen before... [They're still lurking around Hel's district, scrutinizing the bracelet with a particularly nasty flash of their teeth.]

Needless to say, we still aren't impressed.

[They'd be so flattered to know that! As it is, they seem to swell proudly under such lavish praise, skin rippling with their pleasure.]

[It's a good thing that Laurent have seen creatures like Venom before, and that's he's rarely freaked out by anything. He's still slightly surprised by Venom's appearance but he manages a small smile.]

A lot of people here is human, I'm a Keltoi, that's why I look different. My world was called Carmadine. New York...I think I talked to someone else that mentioned that city.

Truly? [Skepticism runs thick in their tone, but curiosity does as well. They truly don't believe this man housed a god--their own religious beliefs simply did not allow it--but they were intrigued.] Two minds, yes...

My world was not like this one, we didn't had this sort of technology and humans weren't this nice to people like me. It'ss strange, I was a slave back home until a year ago, and now everyone here is really friendly.

[They chuckle for a moment, drumming their claws against the walls.] I met my Other within a church. [The shift to singular should be noted, here--Eddie is the one speaking.] I had been praying for forgiveness--lately, I had been consumed with thoughts of suicide.

That was when it found me. It showed me a way out, made me stronger, better than I was... and together, we can work towards a common goal. [They pause at the mention of slavery, lips curling back to bare sharp teeth with disdain.] You were a slave? To humans?

[He chuckles too.] Yeah..everyone does. Just call me Laurent, please.

[Laurent makes no comment about venom's appearance, but he will remember to be careful if they ever meet in person.]Those are some difficult thoughts to deal with, I know it well.

[That startled him] Ah..y-yes. I was seven years old when they took me away from my family. I escaped a year ago and now I'm here.

Laurent. We are Venom.

Yes. Fortunately, we have been forgiven, and reborn as something new!

[There is a low, grudging sound in their throat.] Terrible. We are sorry. Not all of us are like that, we hope you know.

[He bows slightly.] It's a pleasure to met you two.

That's good. Are you happier this way?

[Have a sad smile, but a smile after all.] Thank you, I'm glad is over now. And yes, I know...there's always good people out there too.

Likewise~ And yes, we are. It's nice, constantly having company. We're sorry that you lost your companion. [God-thing.]

Always. If anyone even thinks of causing trouble for you, you'll let us know, hm?

Yeah Oh I wouldn't like to bother you.

[They rumble with pleasure at that, clearly liking the compliments.]

Nonsense! We think of such a thing as our job!

[Laurent meant that so yeah, he's glad Venom took it well.]

You were some sort of knight in your world?

[Because this is what Knights did in his world. Not the cops, the Knights :| Cops were often mean or idiots.]

[Fortunately, they're already inclined to like you, boy, so they won't be terribly easy to offend!]

Why, yes, you could say that! A knight for the innocent~ [They do like the sound of that.]

[Good. It never hurts to be polite c: Laurent's always nice to people.]

That's nice. And a huge responsibility, not many people are willing to do it. Or do it right.

We don't have much else to do, to be frank. Still, it's something we very much enjoy--and something we think is more important than anything else.
