002 | action and audio

[ Someone was awfully busy today! On the side of Hel's Welcome House, Painwheel has set up a small vegetable garden. Right now she's in the middle of setting up little signs to indicate where certain plants are growing. Looks like she's got tomatoes, onions, and carrots set up. It's a very small modest garden but Painwheel actually seems to be enjoying herself. She's even traded in her old ratted hospital gown for this dress, the choice being made quite obviously because of the wheel sticking out of her back. Though, she still hasn't felt the need to take off her mask while outside, it's a strange mixture between cute and downright scary.

After she finishes putting up the small signs, Painwheel fills up a watering can to begin watering the plants. She really hopes that watering her garden everyday will help calm her down enough to live a somewhat normal life. Her anger felt misplaced in Asgard. There were no laboratories or experiments or doctors or anyone else who could tell her what to do. And hopefully, it would stay that way. If not, she'd deal with it when she needed to. ]

[ Later on, she'll address the network. Audio only, as usual, sometimes it's nice to be a faceless voice. ]

Does anyone know if we're allowed to keep pets in the welcome houses? I don't think we are... but maybe I could get around it somehow.

I think it might look nice. I work at a flower shop, actually, so if you decide to plant some I could bring a few over as well. This hall is pretty tasteless, so it might do something to make it look a bit nicer. [even if he has a feeling that it would take an entire park of flowers to offset the general vibe of Hel...]

A kind offer, but I'm afraid I'll have to pass. I have a terribly specific diet.

[he is, unfortunately, one of those vampires that reeks of aristocracy...

he prods at a spot of unearthed grass with his boot toe, tilting his head to one side.]
Oh, of course. I could bring along both seeds and plants that are already in bloom. The more color the better, isn't that so? Unfortunately there aren't many plants in the shop that have a decent amount of color yet, but that can certainly be fixed.

I'll send any who are interested your way.

I will. Rushing the return of color here doesn't get one very far, anyway. [a nod in return] That isn't a problem, there are plenty of mouths to be fed here.

[and then, with a note of curiosity:] Did you tend to gardens in your own world as well?

[he'll take it at face value, even if his idea of 'a really long time' is pretty distorted as well.]

It must be nice to get back to it, in that case. [but he waves a hand at the question, expression souring for a second before returning to neutrality.] I didn't, no, but the company I worked with produced biologically engineered blue roses. I had something of an interest in flowers before then, but it spiked a bit after that.

[his brow furrows and there's a momentary pause before his answer comes.] Pardon, that was poor wording on my part. The company itself is primarily a pharmaceutical one. The blue roses were just a little side project born during a round of biological tests.

[it's a reaction he's pretty familiar with considering the amount of people he knows (himself included) with ingrained apprehension toward anything remotely related to biological testing, but it gets a raised brow anyway.]

Me? Not at all. I don't find the sciences to be very attention-grabbing in general. I'd rather paint a rose than study its cellular growth, you know? [he leans back on his heels] I have an acquaintance who does work there, and I lend him aid on occasion.
