[.001] [Video] + [Text] (Early Morning) - Open to Action for Sigyn's Welcome Hall + Right Outside

[The video clicks on not to a view of a person, but a window. Outside the window is snow, snow, and more snow... and what appears to be a moving snowman outside. Those with the proper knowledge might recognize it as the snowman from Sigyn's district.]

...Is that supposed to happen? [It comes from off-screen. She does her best to keep sight of the snowman until it disappears from view.] Has anyone been here long enough to know? [At that point, the camera goes still for a few moments, then begins to move again as she steps over to the door and, after a moment of hesitance, opens it. When she does, the snowman is right there, and it startles her enough for to drop the bracelet, effectively shutting off the feed.]

[A little while later, there's a text message added.]

I think it's okay. He seemed nice.

He didn't seem like one once I got to meet him. He was really nice and he gave me a basket with some candy and ice cream in it.

I'm not really sure I should eat it.

The snowman gave you candy? That's rather...[Whoops, almost said adorable.]...curious. Did he require anything before giving it to you, or was it just a gift?

I thought so too. [Why would a snowman be carrying around food? ...Do snowmen eat? Do they even have stomachs? It boggles the mind.]

He asked me for something warm but there wasn't anything warm to eat or drink ready and I don't know how to cook so I gave him a scarf.

..perhaps he's a servant of Sigyn, and this is a type of test of sorts.

[Which makes her think of if it would be safe to eat or not.] She's been generous to us so far, aside from our method of arrival.

Maybe. I guess it wouldn't be surprising.

It is nice of them to provide for us like this but

I don't know if I trust them. There are a lot of things that don't add up. [A pause, then,] And kindness isn't always sincere. [She's been mocked enough to know that.]

I understand your hesitation.

It would be foolish to blindly walk in and trust them after they've abducted us. [A pause.] It's too early to tell what they're plans are just yet, or how sincere their generosity truly is.

Exactly. [She sighs, even though it doesn't come across in text.] If they really wanted help they could have just asked instead of kidnapping us. Not everyone would have wanted to but I know some people would have. [She knows about plenty of hero-types.]

Then it's a question of how desperate their situation is - if they've resorted to kidnapping because they had no other option, that's one solution, yet..I somehow find it difficult to believe that gods were left with no alternative.

It's suspicious that they're refusing to address us in person, rather letting their servants and a letter serve as the complete explanation.

[As does she.] It would have been infinitely preferable to have all the cards on the table before anybody acted, yes.

It is hard to believe especially when they're powerful enough that they can just steal us away like that. I don't think they even tried asking since no one I've heard from here said anything about actually being asked beforehand so I don't think kidnapping was a last resort.

It is very strange isn't it? It makes them seem kind of

cold. It's not that they didn't already [what with the whole 'kidnapping' thing,] but I think that makes it worse. I don't think I would have trusted them even if they did come in person but it might have made things a little better.

That woman was kind of scary. [By which she means the maid.]

The title of 'god' fits them well, it would appear. [A pause.] I agree that for all their power, desperation seems unlikely, but as I said, we don't know the whole situation - since they aren't telling it to us.

[She sighs, off screen.]

The servant? Yes - there was something very off about her. [Far too much like the programmed Replicas for her taste.]

It seems that way yes. And you're right. Still if their situation was sympathetic you'd think that they'd want to tell us about it instead of keeping us in the dark.

Yes. She didn't make for the warmest welcome.

It doesn't make me feel a great deal of sympathy for their cause - as vague as it is.

[She's tapping her fingers against her temples, a headache brewing.]

Have you seen any other native citizens to this place? Anybody who wasn't brought here recently, other than the servant?

[(Un?)fortunately for Naminé, she's used to dealing with peculiar conundrums and unpleasant situations.]

I think so. I know I saw some people on my way to my Welcome Hall that looked kind of like the maid. They didn't seem to have bracelets so I don't think they were travelers. I can't really saw how long they might have been here.

Were they as blank as the servant from before?

[A world of no color, and lifeless, empty people..so that part of the letter was true.]

Yes. Maybe even a little more so.

[She's thinking much the same thing.]

[There's a long pause before she writes again.]

If the letter and servant were true about the emptiness of this place, and the powers these deities have given us...I'm inclined for the moment to go along with the situation. At the very least until more information comes to light.

It's not as if I can't take care of myself.

I don't know if there's much else we can do. They haven't asked us to do much but live in the city yet. If we can't leave then there's nothing else that can be done.

I just hope that they won't ask us to do anything else or anything [horrible] bad. [That's the thing that scares her the most; it's happened before, so it can happen again. She has different captors this time, but it's not hard for her to imagine the situation heading the same direction.]

It's more than a little much to ask us to live normally after just uprooting us from our lives.

[..she'd considered that. But she has her standards, and could hold her ground if they tried to force her hand.] They can't make you do anything you don't want to do.

[....] I wonder about that sometimes. Not everyone is strong enough to stand up to someone more powerful than they are.

...no. Not everyone needs to be. But I think everyone has something they would fight for, no matter the odds.
