Chapter 1 | Video
[When the feed first comes on, Castle's just staring at the communicator, a confused look on his face. After he realizes that it's transmitting, he breaks into a smile.]
Ok, seriously, who's on the other end of this thing? Ryan? Espo? I don't know where I am right now, but this is awesome. Is this a belated birthday present from you guys? Please tell me that if I get to be a Norse god, I get to have a costume as well. Where do I pick that up? The woman was really vague... and kind of creepy if I'm being honest with you.
[Castle laughs.]
House Loki. The trickster. Well played, gentlemen. Well played.
Oh and please tell me I get to keep the bracelet, because this is pretty much the most badass technology I've ever seen in my life.
[As he moves outside of the palace, he's able to look around some more and he realizes that thiiiiiiis is not New York City. One can see the mood change on his face. The laughter is a bit more nervous this time.]
T-This is impressive, you guys. Truly. But um.. where exactly am I? There doesn't seem to be a GPS feature on this thing...

Asgard. Wow, how did the boys convince you to play along with this?
[Castle is torn between the fact that Beckett said it so casually that she has to be joking, and the fact that Beckett doesn't lie about stuff like this... ever.]
This isn't a joke, Castle. We're actually... [Okay, you know, this was so much easier to explain when she didn't know who she was talking to. Ugh. Now she sounds crazy.] trapped in some alternate universe thing by these norse gods.
Practical jokes are so unlike you. What happened to bring on this pleasant turn of events?
[This all was very amused, but he'd like to get back home. He still wasn't having a very good feeling about this.]
[video] >> [action]
[Don't make her frustrated, Castle. She does not want to deal with that. She's actually stopped by this point, looking around to make sure she knows where she's going when -
turn a corner and now she can see him. Kate can't help the slight smile as he turns off her bracelet and walks the rest of the way up to him. Though it's a little strange, last she saw him he was leaving her to go on a date with some flight attendant after being thoroughly detached and just...weird. There's a brief moment there where she wonders if it'll still be awkward between them, but she soldiers through it.]
Welcome to Asgard.
[action]
Beckett, I know you don't joke around. Which means this has to be real. And if this is real... that means I'm apparently really a god.
[action]
I would say maybe godlike once you actually learn to use your powers.
[Yeah, it's that kind of world. The one where Kate Beckett is talking about powers and the possibility of becoming godlike.]
[action]
[Castle cocked an eyebrow and made a face, trying to read Beckett's mind. It wasn't working]
[action]
[Wait. Wait a second. She looks back up at him, making a face. Reading minds? Oh god that could get very, very complicated.]
You weren't just trying to read my mind, were you?
[action]
Maybe. Maybe I already did.
[Castle sighs, getting serious for a second.]
Look, there are only two explanations I can come up with right now for why Kate Beckett is telling me we're in Asgard and not some desolate corner of Central Park. 1. This is a dream and none of this is real. 2. I'm tripping on LSD or something.
[action]
But then she just shakes her head.]
One, this would be a very mild LSD trip if this is what you came up with. And two, Castle. If we were in central park you'd still be able to see the building off in the distance. [She's pointing to the skyline right about now.] Or the trees would be too thick to see the sky. You're not in New York City, anymore. Or even Earth, as far as I can tell.
[action]
So this is real, then? This isn't a practical joke. This isn't a dream. I'm not high right now.
[action]
[That's only what she's been trying to tell you this whole time.]
And as of now there are no known ways to go back home. Some people just disappear and everyone assumes they went back home, but no one really knows.
[action]
So.. what are we supposed to do here? And why us? Well, I mean, it's pretty obvious why I was chosen to be a god...
[Castle gives her a playful smirk.]
[action]
And you're not a god, Castle. [Eyeroll.] Believe me, there are real gods around here. Well, as 'real' as they can be. You're just given special powers, like everyone else. [Ouch, way to burst his bubble there Kate.]
[action]
[He gave her a grin.]
So uh.. what House are you in, Beckett?
[He was fairly sure it was not Loki.]
[action]
Heimdall. So you're... [She thinks for a moment. She's spent a lot of her time trying to learn the lay-out, but it is a fairly large city.] You're not completely on the other side of the city, but close.
[action]
[Castle smirked at her.]
You know, Heimdallr and Loki are foretold to kill one another during the events of Ragnarök.
[A small voice in the back of his mind wondered if it was supposed to come to that here. But there was no way he would ever hurt Beckett. If it came down to it, he would take her and hide somewhere or they'd die together.]
[action]
That last part though has her worried. And frowning. Especially with the whole 'war' that's supposed to happen soon...]
I don't know about Ragnarök, but there is a war coming, I just don't think it'll involve fighting between the houses. [Even if it did, she wouldn't fight Castle. She wouldn't even think about it. They'd find a way out, around, something. It wouldn't even come to that.]
[action]
I don't think we have to worry, Beckett.
[He's going to brush the thought away, not think about it right now.]
But I can tell you are. Want to know how I can tell?
[He cocked an eyebrow at her.]
[action]
How can you tell?
[action]
[He waved his hands ~mystically in front of his face, then dissolved into laughter at the look on Kate's. Castle missed this, being able to joke around with her. The last few weeks had been rough for him. But now Jacinda was out of the picture and Beckett had said she was ready. Maybe some kind of magical city of the gods was just what they needed.]
You wanna show me around this place?
[action]
It was...back to normal. It was. And it felt good. Maybe she could tell him, like Laine said. Maybe she needed to. But not yet, not right now.
She shook her head just because it's been a while since she laughed like that.]
Yeah, yeah of course. Anywhere you want to go first?
[action]
[Smirk.]
Take me where I'll be living I guess. I want to check out these digs.
[action]
[She's already started off in the direction of the Loki district. She hasn't spent a lot of time there, but she goes to the Arena often and that's in Thor, the district right next door. Besides, she's got a map. It's not like she needs to be anywhere today - day off from work and all. And maybe, with how much she's been overworking herself since she's gotten here, she needs the day off.]
[action]
[He smiled as he followed her, allowing her to show him around what was going to be his new home.]
[ooc - fade?]
[action]
