☾001☽ video/action

[Yuri is seated in the kitchen of Odin House. He's made himself some tea. This particular kind of tea is not ideal, and the same can be said of the honey, which is of rather low quality, but it will have to do for now. He takes a thoughtful sip, then returns the teacup to its saucer.

He operates his bracelet with ease, beginning a video feed; he's used to similar technology, and he experimented with the device until he became proficient in its use. When he speaks, his expression is grave, his voice calm. He has himself under control now, and there's no outward sign of the anger he feels.]

My name is Yuri Petrov. I'd like to make a public statement of my dissent, though I doubt whether our captors will listen or respond.

No matter the stated aims of those who have brought us here--and those are dubious, at best--it is never acceptable to abduct people from their homes and hold them against their will without cause. It is an inhumane and insupportable act. Children have been taken from their families, and parents from their children, I'm sure. Others have been prevented from carrying out their duties, great and small. No matter the details of our lives, those lives have been disrupted. Many of us are rightfully distressed, though I have no authority to speak on behalf of others now, but speak only as myself.

In accordance with the ideals of civil disobedience, I refuse to willingly participate in this endeavor. I can never agree or cooperate with those who would subvert justice in this reprehensible fashion. However, I will do whatever I can to aid others in the same situation, and to those who feel as I do, you may consider me your ally.

[Well, he's said his piece. With that, he takes another sip of his tea.]

... Perhaps it is just my home, but the supernatural has never been closely associated with 'morals'.

[They don't seem like beings he'd associate with any of the theistic religions. Honestly, they seem much more like the trickster spirits of the stories, so far.

... And Allen would like to think of himself as a skeptic, but the truth is that he's still too innocent in the ways that matter.]

I can only do what I am able, and hope it is enough. It's... unpleasant.

It is largely the same for my world, yes. I'm not sure... where these 'gods' fall.

[He's been a little more wary about voicing direct opposition since he switched Houses, but at the same time he can't really help his doubts.]

I'm not sure what you mean by saying they are not 'above justice'... Are you saying there may be consequences for them?

... I understand.

[It's strange that they can talk about gray areas and what seems to be a more black and white view called 'justice' at the same time.

--Allen can't say he's comfortable with the second idea anymore; not since he himself ended up falling through the cracks of everything. Even if he knows what evil is, that doesn't mean he knows what's right.

In the end, he has nothing to say again. Except...]

Maybe you could say -- they're already experiencing the consequences. We just happened to get caught up in it.

I don't know about 'chosen heroes' -- they're making this out to be some kind of glorious thing, but it feels more like a hostage situation.

... If I may ask, sir, what position did you hold at home?

[A judge. Well, that certainly fits.]

You seem very dedicated to your profession. [Maybe... he should be careful around this person.]

I was a servant in the palace of my kingdom.

It must be important -- I hope you are not kept away from it for too long.

[He's... not the most familiar with the court justice system, but he knows that judges, at least, are very important people.

... Should he laugh or cry at being compared with a 'servant of the people'?]

--My name is Allen Abaddonia, sir. It's an honor.

[In the end, he says nothing about it and completes his introduction with a bow.]

[He actually jumps at the formal term of address.]

I, um. Please, just Allen is more than sufficient.

[This is already pretty much the Twilight Zone, having guys like this call him 'mister' is unneeded surrealism!]
