Come on.. I was waiting for it, but.. why isn't anyone speaking up about this?!

[ Congratulations, Asgard, you now have the addition of one fierce redhead newcomer - or rather, a loudmouth, considering how she's practically yelling at the bracelet without seeming to show much shame over doing so. She isn't entirely angry though, even if that's more obvious, but there's something almost.. nervous about the way she speaks too, as if she still can't completely grasp the situation. ]

This is practically nothing more than a kidnapping case, isn't it?! 'You have been chosen', don't make me laugh..! And they can just do that to us, like it's something normal? They can't just get away with something like that, it's wrong! This is the kind of thing you're supposed to call the cops over, or at least do something--

[ The girl halts mid-sentence because.. well, yes, she doesn't know what to do either right now, especially not while she's still caught up in the surprise. At least it seems to calm her down a bit more, even if she still seems dissatisfied. ]

... There's got to be at least someone who can give some more answers, right? Or maybe it's all some weird dream..

[ People from Heimdall are also free to see the newcomer yell at her bracelet in person and all. ]

[ These punishments really must be something.. with the way her face is paling.. seriously, they're doing this to people? She already can't stand these gods, thinking they can just mess around with people like that. ]

They - they didn't hurt me, just played around with me a bit. [Pulling herself together. She's got to make this girl realize the value of a low profile.] But they've killed before, and even though you can't really die permanently here, it's still something you'd want to avoid.

[ Even going as far as killing people.. besides, even if this girl says they 'just' played around with her, that's already going way too far in the eyes of someone like Asahi. ]

These gods seriously are the lowest of the low.. And we're just supposed to sit around and endure this, avoiding what they do as much as we can?!

You can avoid it, or you can help wherever possible. When big things happen, Heimdall's powers can be a huge help to the healers. Do you know which one you have?

[ She shakes her head-- still a little confused, really. ]

Heimdall's powers..? How am I supposed to find out? [ But what about her own original ower, she can't help but wonder that. ]

If the maid didn't tell you, then it's trial and error, I guess. [Like her own experience.] You'll either have Power Lending, which is making other peoples' powers stronger, or Damage Drain, which lets you take on the injuries of others.

S-so.. we have some sort of special power? [ well, she had one back home, but there everyone had that power so it wasn't anything special, so give her a moment to take that in.. ]

Then how did you find out?

Yeah, every house has two different powers you can end up with.

Someone was using their power, and I was focussing really hard on it because I wanted it to work well, and they got stronger. That's how I found out I had Power Lending.

If that doesn't work, then you probably have Damage Drain.

... I got it.

[ Even if all this is very unsettling.. She can't let it show that much, especially not in front of a stranger, right? So instead Asahi tries to smile her usual confident smile. ]

A friend of mine said he was coming over in a bit, so I'll ask to test it on him! Whatever his power might be. Thanks for the information!

Yeah. They're friends of mine. We actually had a bigger group back home, but not all of us are here.. and that's probably just for the best.

I tell myself the same thing about my friends - I'd rather they didn't come, for their own safety.

... Then you get it, right? It's fine even if you're here on your own, as long as you know the people you care about aren't in danger here.

Yeah, I do get it. The gods say that time stops while we're here and we're put right back where... or when, I guess, we were when we go home, so I even know that they're not in danger. It works a lot better this way.

Then.. just calling you Nakama should be alright, huh?

That's fine. [She smiles a little.] You're Japanese, right? You'll find that some people keep honorifics and some just go by the Asgard language, but no one's really offended either way. It's mostly up to you.

Yeah, I sometimes use them, but.. it often feels a little too stiff, you know? I prefer to just use a more direct approach!

And.. it helps it some people here aren't Japanese to start with, I guess.

I like to be polite, but I just found that it was harder and harder to remember them as time went on... I guess you get used to things here, a new language and people from all different worlds, and customs from home don't feel as important.

I don't mean you forget...! Not the really important things. You just start to adapt after awhile.

... Forgetting important things sure would suck.. I mean, I'm not about to put up with being kidnapped, but that would only make it even worse!

But.. no matter how long it takes, I'm not going to stop trying to look for some way out.

You won't be alone. [Seriously, with no hint of mockery.] There are people who don't care, and people who want to stay, but there are a lot who have sworn to leave this place. It's been a long time with no sign of one, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

.. Exactly. I don't believe there's such a thing as something that's impossible or useless! [ okay, now she's actually cracking a smile. ]

As long as we keep trying, we'll find it somehow.
