[Locked to Trucy]
Trucy? ...There is something I would like to give you. A present. I think it will prove useful to you, both in Asgard and at home. And...there is something I wish to tell you along with it.
...It concerns Apollo as well, so I will be inviting him too.
[Locked to Apollo]
Apollo, are you free today? I understand you have a number of projects, but there is something I must tell you and Trucy. And I would not feel right doing it any way except face to face with both of you.
[Action - Freyr common area]
[ Lamiroir is trying to take her nerves off this meeting... it's interesting how easily stage fright can be compartmentalized, but the thought of how these two might react to what she has to say has her tensed up. She distracts herself noting the composition for a song, but considering the subject matter--a reunion--perhaps it's not a complete distraction. ]

She distracts herself noting the composition for a song, but considering the subject matter--a reunion--perhaps it's not a complete distraction. ]
Now with your light back in my eyes
I send my voice out to reach you...
action;
[And it's too damn familiar for comfort.]
action;
Okay... so! Well, I'm ready if you are. We can--sit down in the lounge over here and talk?
[Fortunately, there doesn't seem to be anyone around right now. Some of his housemates are... weird.]
action; 1/2 I am sorry for this dorkiness
[ And Apollo's back! She takes the glass, returning his smile. Hopefully he's smiling at the end of this, too... ]
Yes, that's fine. Trucy, I'll give you your gift first.
[ And indeed, when they get over to the lounge, she sets her glass down and reaches with her other hand to take it off.
...Try to take it off. The bracelets are a perfect fit when the wearer is relaxed, and contract to tension in the muscles. Guess what nervousness does? ]
action; 2/2 but only a little
There we go. ]
...It's not usually so difficult. Here you are, Trucy. [ She holds out the bracelet on her open palm, easy for them both to see--thick, carved, gleaming, and exactly identical to the one Apollo wears. ] Do you know how these bracelets work?
action; 1/3 it's okay I'm about to spam this one out too
But she started to focus again once Lamiroir began to talk, her eyes drawn down to Lamiroir's wrist as she struggles to get something off.
...Wait.
Wait.
Wait. Wait. Wait.]
action; 2/3
She quickly glances over at Polly's wrist--he still has his.
Then how did Lamiroir have it? Trucy hadn't noticed her wearing one during the case, but then again under that long cloak it was hard to see her hands.
What was going on?!]
action; 3/3 okay I'm done.
He sometimes mentions his bracelet acting up when he sees perceives a habit, but... [She turns to Apollo, still totally faking this. Polly, you totally know what's going on, right? Right??] Is there something special about your bracelet, Apollo?
action; 1/3, all the spamming!
--and then hands it to Trucy.
What?
He doesn't know what to say while Trucy's talking, because he's not sure what to make of any of it.
...
And then Trucy turns toward him while he's still just STARING, looking utterly startled. He's not as good as hiding his reactions as Trucy is.]
2/3
Who, me? [Yes, of course, you. Good one, Apollo.] Well, I--
--I didn't know either. That we had the same bracelet.
[If she'd been wearing it before, it must have been covered up by her robes. But how is that possible? He's never seen another bracelet like his before...
So what does that mean? Not to mention the fact that she's giving it to Trucy, and wanted to speak to both of them. There are ideas in his head, but it's all so confusing and startling.]
3/3
It is special. It does act up, like you said, when someone's habit acts up, but that's not the only thing.
[He pauses, his surprised expression turning serious.]
It was also given to me by my real mother. It's the only thing I have from my birth parents.
ahaha kids get brainbreak for free!
[ She pauses, and sits down, giving them some time to follow suit if they wish before she continues. ] It used to be that I wore both as a set. Then, I had a beautiful, strong son... [ and she smiles for a moment despite her worry, but as genuine and bright as it is, it slips away as she admits: ] but I myself was not strong enough to keep him.
Damn it, Lamiroir!
Wait a minute.
Without thinking, she slips the bracelet onto her wrist so she can search for something with a free hand. Trucy fumbles underneath her ascot to pull something from beneath it--her locket, almost identical to
Zak'sPhoenix's. It had been a long while since she'd actually opened it to look inside. She was almost afraid to now.]
Why must you do this to your children?
[There's only one thing she can really mean by what she said. She was clear enough in her last words.
But he's rather dumbstruck by what she's just said, so it's hard to find the words to reply.
He looks from Lamiroir back to Trucy again. She gave Trucy the other bracelet. For a moment, he looks as if he's going to burst into tears, but he doesn't, blinking instead. He'd certainly never expected her to tell them something like this. It's just astounding.]
So you-- And Trucy and I--
But how?
no subject
Although, the shocked reactions make her uneasy, much as they were to be expected, and she looks back and forth between the two. ] I'm sorry--I wanted to find a better way to tell you both. But I didn't feel it was right to wait any longer. [ Not when it meant holding off on giving Trucy the bracelet. What if it could help her? ]
..."How", Apollo? [ It's gentle, a prompt for clarification. There are so many different things that could be about. ]
no subject
...Then it was true. But if she didn't die in that accident, why did she abandon her after Zak took off?
Smile, Trucy. Don't let it get to you.] I've always wanted a brother, looks like I've had one all along!
no subject
[Apollo isn't quite sure precisely what he did mean by the question, speaking out of surprise and confusion. He's not at his most eloquent.
But it is odd, isn't it, that he should happen to become an attorney and grow up to end up working on a case involving her and Troupe Gramarye? It seems like such an incredible, odd coincidence, considering... Oh. He frowns, pushing that thought away for now.]
--what happened? [Trucy had been left by Zak after the trial, and there'd been the accident, but all that had happened after he'd been born. He'd assumed his birth parents couldn't take care of him for some reason, but his mother was a famous magician? He just doesn't understand, but there must be an explanation. Most things have an explanation.] That's all.
[He glances at Trucy when she speaks.] Right. I guess you do! [He smiles at her at this, and that is a good thing, isn't it? Though it hasn't really sunk in yet, and it's hard to think of Trucy as his sister right away, when he's only known her a few months.
They didn't grow up together.]
no subject
It does not take a bracelet to realize this is a moment to focus, and though Lamiroir pays careful attention to Apollo's question, one that deserves and needs answering, she can't help but ponder why Trucy is behaving like that. Has she somehow hurt her...? She feels hurt herself, though she knows Trucy hardly meant for that.
Unfortunately, Apollo's question is a difficult one, and she closes her eyes momentarily, thinking of the past and regrets she had until recently forgotten. There were lost joys, too. ]
...Your father was not Zak, Apollo. He was a performer who appeared with the troupe as a guest. ...My father was quite unhappy about us being together. They could get along professionally, but off the stage was another matter. Still, we were determined, so we married. And when Father still could not be happy for us, I left the troupe to start a new life, with a new family. [ She takes a look at Trucy, sure this is news for her, too: her first marriage had not exactly been an easy or even acceptable topic within the troupe. ]
...You were born. Both Dyeus and I were very happy. You were named after the god of light, as the light of the future we would have. But that future was not meant to be. [ Her voice is steady, time distancing from the grief, and she is certain Apollo already picked up from the use of tenses that his father is firmly in the past. ] He died by accident months after you were born. He...was young. Twenty. [ Apollo was already older than his father had been. It was a strange, aching thought. ]
no subject
However, she knows when not to say something, and now was definitely not the time to be making random interjections.] ...I'm sorry, mom. [Okay, that was really, really weird to say.] For your loss.
no subject
Oh--I'm sorry, too. Really sorry.
[He guesses he's sorry for his own sake too, but it's hard to know what to feel, to learn who your father was and also that he died in the same moment. Now he does look like he wants to cry.]
And I'm sorry, I--don't know what to say. [He pauses, takes a deep breath.] This is a lot to take in, all at once.
no subject
It...is a lot. I knew there would be questions once you and Trucy knew of the bracelet, and I did not want to leave you two confused. There may have been a better way to "break" the matter, though.
[ But, well. Just as there were no etiquette books for this, so was it also completely unlike a performance she could rehearse until every note was pitch-perfect. ]
...Trucy, are you all right?
no subject
...Hey Lamiroir, should I call you mom from now on?
[She pats Apollo on the back--she doesn't know what to say to him, but she wants him to feel better and to know she's there for him.]
aargh, sorry guys
[Maybe it's not exactly fine, but he will say that it is, trying his best to get over being flustered.]
Right. What should we call you now?
DISOWNING YOU. ...again?
But that next question resets her thoughts and she looks both happy and apprehensive. Happy that Trucy suggested it, but it is a question. ]
I think of you both as my children. But you should call me whatever you feel comfortable with. It's...not as though I've been around, these past ten years.
I'm so so sorry T_T
Don't worry about it, mom. Nobody's perfect!
don't worry about it! ♥
[Mom would be a really big leap for him at this point, even though Trucy went there.
And it's been a bit longer than ten years for him, but he understands what she means. It's a little hard not to feel a little abandoned, but it's not that he isn't happy, too. It's a confused and confusing mixture of emotions.
He doesn't like putting his problems on others either, but he's much worse at hiding them, being incredibly transparent, though he's calmed down a bit now.]
Right, it's okay. It's good to finally know about it. So thanks--for telling us. We can get to know each other better now.
