oo1. [video]

[Conan beams. Pure, unadulterated, cheerfulness might not be enough to distract from the drab, gloomy interior of Hel's hall, but he's trying hard.]

Ne -- I was thinking! I've heard a lot of people wondering why we were here -- not the reason in the letter. Why us and not anyone else! So that got me thinking -- maybe we'll find out the answer sooner if we ask questions to a lot of people at once!

I've got one for everyone -- sorry if it's a bit weird, but try and answer the best you can, okay? I bet it'll be useful in the long run. Anyway -- how important are you in your world?

I'll be waiting for your answer -- thank you!

[And clicking the feed off, Conan lets out a sigh, massaging sore cheek muscles. Tch ... this better work ... ]

It's a pleasure to meet you as well, ...?

My family was involved in a diverse selection of financial matters. My husband specifically was an investor, primarily in real estate, his sister Eva's husband runs a chain of fast food restaurants, his brother Rudolph had his fingers in various business dealings, and his youngest sister Rosa ran a fashion design company.

That's right, Edogawa-kun.

Well, the head family of the Ushiromiyas lived on a small private island near Niijima, so business discussions with those outside the family usually took place on the mainland. But I did have to oversee the running of the household, as well as prepare for any visits by my husband's siblings. The most important of those is a family conference held every year where the siblings all come together to discuss financial plans with each other and Father.

Yes, for the most part. I did accompany my husband on his business trips sometimes, so I have some familiarity with his business partners, but little with those of his siblings.

Yes, I would. To run such a household, I needed to manage a number of servants as well as have excellent organizational and planning skills.

[Not to mention the efforts she had to make to maintain the magic that kept Kinzo alive, but that wasn't something she could speak of openly.]

You're welcome, Edogawa-kun. Hopefully the answers you get will help you figure out why the gods here selected those they did.
