[Conan beams. Pure, unadulterated, cheerfulness might not be enough to distract from the drab, gloomy interior of Hel's hall, but he's trying hard.]

Ne -- I was thinking! I've heard a lot of people wondering why we were here -- not the reason in the letter. Why us and not anyone else! So that got me thinking -- maybe we'll find out the answer sooner if we ask questions to a lot of people at once!

I've got one for everyone -- sorry if it's a bit weird, but try and answer the best you can, okay? I bet it'll be useful in the long run. Anyway -- how important are you in your world?

I'll be waiting for your answer -- thank you!

[And clicking the feed off, Conan lets out a sigh, massaging sore cheek muscles. Tch ... this better work ... ]

That is true. The worst they could do is refuse. [Probably.]

... Royal and noble titles are typically rather long, yes.

I have not yet met one, so they are indeed difficult to find, at least for me. [Sigh.] I will also keep looking, I suppose.

[Can't lose to a little kid...!]

The continent of my home is composed mostly of kingdoms, so yes, I would say the royalty is pretty important.

I am in the district of Heimdall. Why do you ask?

[There's a bit of a wry quality to it as he continues.]

... I was an ordinary servant, so I was given chores around the castle with the others. I also waited on Her Highness.

[He never thought he'd find himself wishing he were just in charge of scrubbing floors and serving tea, but, well. Life has a way of throwing in these little twists.]

It does seem to be a strangely complicated system. Perhaps they simply didn't have somewhere large enough to house everyone.

[Though, they're gods, so that seems like kind of a flimsy reason.]

It was a busy job, yes. I had pretty much nothing to do with state affairs, however.

[Actually, he had to eavesdrop to even get to hear about them, most of the time.]

That is the problem.

--I think I know what you are getting at, but no, I'm afraid I don't have much experience with that either. At least, not much more than the other servants. I may have to be an outlier to your theories.

Well, it would certainly be an interesting city if only royalty and other highly-placed people were here.

[That -- at least going by the royalty and upper-classes he's encountered so far -- would actually be absolutely terrible and completely hilarious. There is definitely a bit of amusement showing here.]

... May I ask what kind of peripheral importance you had?

It is something to keep in mind.

[Said in the most serious tone ever, but there's a quirk to his mouth.]

--That does sound impressive, though I'm not familiar with detectives. Are you an assistant?

I see -- an aid to the law. It does sound like an exciting job, though we don't have such a position where I come from. [Though... it's actually gathering information, isn't it? A little like a spy -- like Mariam, though this kid's role is probably closer to Ney's.]

You may not be an official assistant, but it seems like you're still able to be of use. I'll look forward to the results of your investigation.

[Let's see if you can walk the talk, little detective.]
