[The Travelers get a good view of Merlin's room when the video starts and--hang on, what's...that? No, your eyes do not deceive you. Where there was only one grumpy owl before, there are now about ten of varying sizes, perched all around the room. A few ruffle their feathers, as if in greeting. Despite the feathery chaos behind him, Merlin seems to be perfectly fine, and isn't paying them any attention at all.]
I think, between the dragon, the ice faeries, and the stabbings, the city's gotten pretty dangerous recently. I don't know how getting hurt by a good friend or family member fits into all this, but the ice faeries weren't that much of a surprise, if you think about what Odin told us. [Here, he picks up a sheet of paper and glances at it before continuing.] There's Muspellheim with the fire king Surt--he's the one who sent the dragon--and there's Thrymheim with the frost queen Thiazi. We didn't get a declaration of war from the queen like with the dragon, but the ice faeries are probably close enough.
Between all that's happened, it looks like everyone's going to be affected. I mean, they weren't exactly choosy about the people they were targeting. You think it'd be a good idea if we built some sort of fort for the people who don't want to fight? People usually go to the hospital for shelter, but we've gotten overwhelmed there nearly every single time something happens. There's just too many of us here now.
[Merlin frowns down at the paper again.] Oh yeah, there's a few of us who would teach newcomers how to use their abilities, in case any of you need it. More people willing to help us with that would be great--just the god's abilities, though. If you want lessons for weapon-use, you'll be wanting to see Arthur Pendragon for that. Or Albion--er...England, I mean. I think they're looking for some help with The Citadel, too.
Private to Sam Winchester:
Hey, Odin mentioned another city--Utgard. It looks like the natives are allowed to go there, but none of us are. Know anything about it?
Private to Lucifer:
When did you want to meet again?

I hear you've made Mary a lady?
[ grinning. ]
I did. She deserves it.
Arthur's going to throw a fit, you know. About the title. What made you do that?
Arthur's title doesn't matter as much to her, either. When they talk. That's probably a good thing.
[Merlin stops thoughtfully.] Though...it isn't a bad thing, reminding Arthur who he is sometimes, too. He's been confused since he got here.

The ones who will try and judge my brother by his important his title is to them will prove themselves to be no more than ignorant fools. And I will tell Arthur he is a fool if he'll ever let that discourage him. He is the future king of Camelot, yes. But I do not support him for his title alone. He is brave and just, he is the best man in this kingdom.
He is the only one worthy and whole he may be the prince of Camelot, that is the last thing in a long list of things which makes him worthy. Camelot's best and I would not be surprised if he is the best one in this city either.
If the lack of a title confuses my brother, perhaps it is time to remind him that it is not the reason he has out faith indeed.

You're right. He gets too caught up in titles sometimes, but. Well. With Uther as his father, I can't really blame him.
Uther might be the king right now, but Arthur is already a better man than Uther will ever be. My loyalty is to Arthur, not to Uther, and it sure isn't because of the crown on his head.
He needs to know that.

Maybe we should...give him something. To remind him of what he's good at without the crown.

He's got his sword already... [Merlin perks up.] A shield?

You know...maybe we could...come up with something else to put on the shield. Instead of the Pendragon crest? Something that's just for Arthur alone.

She's sweet, Freya.
