✿ Chapter 002. [Audio][Day 53]

[This time it takes shorter for Hanako to start speaking, although her shaky and quiet voice did not change considerably. Taking initiative and posting in the networks is still nerve-wrecking somewhat, and she's been struggling a lot to talk with everyone in general. Everyone as in, the people who didn't overwhelm her too much.

Yesterday she was too busy having a date at the Great Library with Hisao (trying to search for info about their powers, and not being much successful at it) and was just a little aware of the things that happened while she was away. But the most surprising thing was what she'd found on the desk in her room when she returned...]

Um... I... I saw that a f-few of you people... got hurt rather s-seriously yesterday...

[Pause...] I don't know of w-who attacked you... but... I am sorry it happened... and I hope you all w-will be alright... This must be... rather terrible for you... I am sorry for n-not being able to... word this properly... u-um...

And... I would like to thank... all the people who offered me help when I got i-in here... one of my friends was sent here as well and I found him... s-so... just, thank you guys...

[She decides to cut the feed for now, not finding anymore words to say. Social linking is hard and emotionally draining, sob.]

Hisao... There's something I need to... show you... Something I found when we returned yesterday...

It'd still be good as long as... you put your heart into it... [She averts her gaze to hide another blush.]

[He almost wanted to make a heart related joke, considewring his was hardly an ideal specimen. However, the sincerity and earnest nature in her comment prevented him making light of it. In fact, he wasn't even entirely sure how to reply, so, he just smiled and continued to work - He flipped the pancake and it was a much esier process. Still not a perfectly round one... but much better than the squished looking one before it.]

Ahh - I think I'm getting the hang of this.

Good... [She returns to watching him, quietly smiling as the smell in the air made her even eager to look forward to eating it.]

[A few minutes later and he managed to get it onto a plate. He was looking pretty proud of himself, too!]

There - now That is a more fitting meal to give you.

[OK, so, it still wasn't perfect by any means. But it was definitely passable. He handed her the plate.]

I'll eat my first one before making any more so it doesn't get too cool.

[She smiles at him.] Thanks... [She takes the plate and finds a seat and a table nearby.]

[Hisao turns the heat off of the pan and sits down with his own plate, getting them both some utensils before starting in.]

Oh wow - hey, I think we did pretty well, huh?

[He couldn't help grinning. The food was really pretty good, and he couldn't remember the last time he'd seen her smiling so much. All in all, this had been a great evening.]

[Hanako wants to take a bite before judging, so she does. And her blinking and wide smile aftwewards tells him everything about her opinion of it.] You're right...

[Hisao had taken a few more bites.]

I think I'm going to get to enjoy cooking more. We make a pretty good team, huh?

... I guess we do. Somewhat...

[He just smiled and continued to eat, making fairly short work of the rest of his.]

Did you think you'd want another one?

[Considering how often she skipped meals, he wasn't sure that she ate much at all in general.]

[Hanako is eating slowly, by the time he speaks again she has half of it done.] Another one? ...Sure.

[Hisao nodded and got up.]

OK! Give me a few minutes and I'll have another one made for each of us.

[He set about making some more while she finished hers.]

[Hanako just nods, finishing her portion in time for the next one to arrive.]

[Hisao was a little quicker making these ones. He thought he'd found the perfect ratio of batter to make them easy to move around in the pan. They were out of prawns now, though. There was still a little bacon, vegetables and batter if they decided on thirds, though.]

[He placed it on the table - he'd taken the time to sauce it for her and add mayonaise.]

Ah- thank you. [She takes it and smiles.] You're getting the hang of it already...

Seems that way. I'll have to make sure to copy this recipie down so I don't forget it. The batter part, at least.

[He set about saucing his own, now.]

Did you want anything to drink? I think I saw some orange juice in the fridge.

Oh yes, I would like some... [She'd wait a bit before eating her piece.]

[Hisao finished saucing his pancake, placing it on the table. He then went and got them each a large glass of Orange Juice.]

Here. This stuff is good for you, you know.

[At least, that was what he'd heard.]

Really? How? [She looks at the glass, then back at him.]

It has a lot of vitamins in it. Especially Vitamin C, which is good for your immune system. I drank a lot of Orange Juice in Hospital.

[And not nearly as much coffee as he would have liked.]

Let's see if these ones are as good as our first?

[And with that, he started eating again.]

If you say so... [And then she does have a taste of orange juice, smiling softly.] Tastes good...

It does. And it's nice and cold, too - the fridge here is pretty nice. Actually, all the appliiances and stuff are.

[The kitchen, when you stopped to look at it, was definitely a nice one. Everything looked relatively new. Maybe not spotless, but then again it was a kitchen for a lot of people to use, so, you couldn't expect it to stay sterile for long, even with regular cleaning.]

It does. They must refurnish it once everyday... [Hanako then sets to eat, falling silent.]

Once every day? Maybe.

[He took another look around before starting to eat again. He wouldn't mind a little miso soup to go along with these - he wondered if anywhere in town sold it. It was probably simple enough to make but he hadn't spotted any ingredients for it here yet.]

[She ate the okonomiyaki with pleasure, relaxing slowly. She'd also add some more mayo to give it a better taste. Even though they both would rather to eat in silence, it's never been awkward somehow, except the first days they ate together in the Tea room with Lilly.]
