No idea, but knowing you and knowing hunters, it wouldn't have been anything good. He's almost as manipulative as Luci himself, maybe more so.

[Mary opens her mouth then closes it again a few times, glaring at him resentfully.]

Dean sighs, dragging a hand over his face.]

Look, do what you want. You're a big girl— you're my friggin' mom, okay? I can't tell you what to do, but I'm not gonna help you do something stupid either.

[Mary sighs in turn, looking away and speaking quietly.]

I don't want to do anything stupid... I just don't appreciate being treated like a kid.

[It's strange. One minute she wants to ask about everything, if only to iron out the distinct feeling of being in the dark and five steps behind, and the next minute she doesn't want to know. Something tells her that the more she asks, the less she'll like the answers. But this is her life- the future, even if it can't be her future.

She can't even begin to reconcile how much she wants to know them with the sick feeling in her stomach every time she sees their faces.]

[He sighs, sagging a bit and looking ultimately defeated. He's getting tired of this, of life and it's inability to leave him and his family the hell alone.]

[She sags a little too, in a slightly weird mirror of his actions.]

Thanks. It means a lot to me- I know it can't be easy for you to see me at all.

[He looks up at that, because it's not hard, exactly, not for the reasons she probably thinks. He wishes he knew how to get closer to her, wishes he could just be her little boy, but she's too young.]

Yeah, well, I'm sure I'm not exactly the first person you'd like to have around.

Maybe not, but that doesn't make this easy for anyone. Maybe it's not even your fault that- you know, that what happened did.

Bobby told me... if it were me, I think I would have done the same thing.

[Dean blanches and looks away. He'd always felt like she blamed him, that it was his fault, and he wasn't really surprised to finally hear that she really did feel that way; he did, too.]
