[Well now here is a girl, or maybe a woman, depending on how you look at her, who looks like she could be an up-and-coming Hollywood starlet, with all-American good looks and blonde wavy hair. In fact, she's a little unearthly beautiful. There's something a little unsettling about it.

Forks, Washington, USA; needs color even more than this place half the year. Don't worry if you've never heard of it. Practically no one has.

It is a place named after cutlery?

I kind of assumed it had something to do with rivers or something since it is stupid rainy and covered in water up here--well, there, I guess--but I don't know, maybe someone just really liked cutlery. Although if they were going to do that, Knives would have been more fun.

Rivers would make far more sense as a name. Knives would be a somewhat intimidating name, I believe.

Regardless-- the gods here do not appear to care much about us, only their own goals, unfortunately.

I'm almost tempted to do the exact opposite of what they want just to spite them.

I am not sure how viable that plan would be. They seem to indicate that just by being here, we are fulfilling their wishes.

Great. Well, at least they're up front about it. [/kanyeshrug] I hope they don't expect me to feel honored, though.

I do not think any of us do-- but then, the letter said that it would be the entire gamut of emotions that would bring life into this place.

Maybe you should go up the castle and lodge a complaint.

Well, like I said, it's better than another day of high school in Hicksville. I might put a stern note in their suggestion box, though.

What do people do for fun around here?

From what I've managed to surmise, our gracious hosts care very little for the consent of their guests, or their general well being, for that matter.

Well, if I remember my mythology correctly, gods pretty much do whatever they want and leave poor mortals to clean up the messes.

Then again, I always kinda assumed that was a human metaphor for the cruelty and capriciousness of fate, rather than, you know, an actual thing.

I believe these gods would have them as one in the same. Very little of this realm makes any sense, but they are fond of their theatrics.

I used to be a little theatrical, when I was younger and before I, you know, grew out of it.

Have you had similar experiences before?

Kind of the story of my life, really. A lot of people seem to look at me and see someone who needs to have her choices made for her. Or, at least they did until I realized that the number of fucks I was required to give was zero.
