[The video clicks on because that's all he's figured out so far, technology is hard!!, showing a long-haired teenage boy.]

It's rather strange, isn't it? Everything about this place, I mean. I have to admit, this city is... nothing like I've ever seen. It looks far more peaceful than I would have expected. Though I suppose then that, if this place really does need us, I'll just have to do my best to help.

[He frowns for a moment. All right, so going back home is definitely his first priority, but helping someplace in need while he's stuck here won't hurt at all, will it? ...But there are other things he's curious about and he turns back to the bracelet.]

Could it be possible that more than one of us has been brought in from each of our worlds? [Because that would so not be a good thing, as far as he's concerned.] I know some have, but all of us? I haven't seen anyone I recognize yet, but there does seem to be quite a large amount of people here...

It is peaceful. [ that's the one thing he's able to grant this place... he can't exactly call it quiet with the constant hustle of people arriving, but nothing bad has actually happened since. ] I'm not sure if that will last though...

I don't think that's true for everyone... Though as long as you keep looking, if anyone you know is here, I'm sure you'll find them.

I'd like to hope it'd last, but there must be some truth to their talk of saving this place.

I wonder what they mean by "saving"... if all we had to do was save it from some sort of disaster, the part about laughter and tears doesn't make any sense.

It'd be a very strange disaster, to be connected to that.

Although, what a god may consider a disaster could be very different from what we would.

I think we do have to save this world.

I just wish we knew what we were saving it from.

Possible, certainly, but it doesn't seem terribly likely to me, from what I've seen so far.

That might be for the best, in the end, wouldn't it? They should get to stay home. [As nice as a few familiar faces might be, someone's gotta take care of things back home.]

I'd certainly find it preferable. There's too much going on, for some of us.

[And hey, he wasn't going to live much longer anyway, so if anyone has to get pulled out of the war early, he's the reasonable choice by any standard.]

On the other hand, considering that I've already spoken to people from disparate points in time, I do wonder if we'll actually lose time here at all. If they can take us from anywhere, then should we really expect going the other way to be more limited?

[Oh, he had not considered that at all. The thought's a chilling one.] If they could do that...

By the time we manage to return, everything could be over already. Any amount of time could pass.

Or we could simply be returned to when we left. That's what I'd hope for, at least. I'm not going to make assumptions, of course.

[But he's going to hope for it awfully hard. Because what even would happen if he returned too late, to when he should already be dead...?]

Well, Mouri-ojichan only works when he's got a case and Ran-neechan has to take care of him, so you see it'd be kind of difficult!

Um.. I-I'm not sure if it counts for all of us, but.. I've already seen some people from back home.. [ slightly hesitant and sly - STRANGER DANGER ALL OVER THE PLACE. ]

Do you mean you're all alone?

[ she looks a little worried. ]

[A pause as he sees her. Really, two children already?]

Yes, it looks like only some of us had people we know brought here too.

[He smiles at her, trying to make it look reassuring.] It's all right. I'm certain my friends are doing fine back home.

Yeah, but.. you must be lonely, right? [ she can only imagine how sad she would be to be stuck in this place all alone, without her older brother and his friends. ] If you don't know anyone here yet, and other people do..

[He pauses, considering what to say to her. Sure, he'd like to see his friends, but under the circumstances...] It'd be very nice to see them again, but I'd be glad just knowing they're all right. That's important too, isn't it?
