001 ⇨ video | action post for Heimdall

[ Since arriving here, Ianto had spent hours in the library reading up, and then even longer walking the city in exploration. However... he had safe to say, grown bored. It wasn't like back home, with an unlimited amount of things to do in an hour. No, despite the initial shock of being here which had slowly lessened over the last month, and the newcomers and baking competitions... it was a big change.

It wasn't a complaint, by all accounts he wasn't even alive back home. But the confusion as to the hows and whys was still very much present.

The video is flickered on, Ianto is sitting at the table in the kitchen, mug in hand. ]

I like sweets as much as anyone else, but I highly doubt I was brought back for my mediocre-at-best baking skills. Anyone know what that was all about?

[ Ianto leans forward slightly to turn off the device, but as if an after thought - he adds:]

Also... If anyone in Heimdall would like coffee, I've put a pot on.

Coffee?

[WHAT IS THAT, FELLOW HEIMDALLIAN.]

Coffee. It's a caffeinated beverage of Earth origin made by grounding up coffee beans and brewing them in hot water. Sometimes flavored with sugar and cream, to the drinker's taste.

[Oh. How wonderfully informative. She blinks slowly.]

[...it makes sense to him, really. Still, he nods in reply.]

In the kitchen, if you'd like some.

[Oh dear, that requires stairs. Fi is still getting used to having a physical body. But the power of information is calling her!!! So she will figure it out.]

[Shrugs slightly.] There's no rush. I've got to clean up a bit in here.

Is creating coffee messy?

Not really. I just like to keep the equipment clean for others to use.

I have. Was surprised to find so many familiar titles. I figured it being another world, we'd find more things about the history of this place, maybe some actual clues to our being here.

I have not. I am still learning how to walk without assistance. Going to the Odin district, while closer than most districts, may prove to be too trying.

[Castiel likes coffee. He's had it on occasion at home and more often here, but he hasn't had any in all of like, six hours.

Therefore upon seeing this message, and actually being in the Heimdall house instead of lurking at Odin, Castiel shows up in the kitchen and drifts toward the coffee pot without a word of greeting.]

[Ianto raises an eyebrow, watching Castiel. He raises an eyebrow, clears his throat.]

Sugars here, if you want it. Cream in the fridge. I'm not cleaning up any mugs you use, so you know.

[He glances over after filling his coffee mug, tilting his head slightly.]

Are sugar or cream normally put into it?

[He's never had it that way.]

Not always. Some find drinking it black too bitter, and need something to lighten the flavor up a bit.

Some drink with ice or flavored syrups, but I don't care for those. [his coffee snobbery. It is apparent.]

[Hm. He's seen Sam put things in his coffee before but never tried it himself, so he soon drifts over to the table to consider the sugar.]

How much?

You don't want to put too much, but it's all a matter of taste.

[He takes a seat and very seriously begins to consider the sugar and the size of the coffee mug, before slowly adding a little bit.]

Do you put it in yours?

[Coffee? What is coffee. Despite not knowing what the product is, it smells nice enough, and Psiioniic follows the scent into the kitchen. He finds the origin of the scent, a very hot coffee pot, and looks around for anyone nearby.]

... Ith that yoursth?

[Curious.. ] Yeah, it is. But you're welcome to have a cup, if you'd like.

Right. Thank you.

[He finds himself a cup to pour it in, and, very delicately, pours it. And continues, very delicately to sip it.]

It'th good.

[Ianto watches over the rim of his mug.]

You're more than welcome to take as much as you'd like.

Oh-- ah. No. I wouldn't want to take too much. Thomeone elthe might want thome.

You come to a strange realm and all you can think of is preparing domestics? [There is a small snip to his tone, a severity but that's Malik for you.]

Were you not informed when you arrived of the reasoning for you being brought here?

[Ianto hears it, but he's not miffed. Or... not outwardly.] Oh yes, I got the reasoning. But in the month I've been here... well, hasn't been much else going on, has there?

Besides. No harm in coffee. Just cause we're stuck doesn't mean we need to go without.

You would think for having been in a place for a month, with a task to perform, they would have given you more to do.

Coffee--? Is that qahwa, the drink that's steeped from a bean?

That's what I was expecting when they mentioned saving the world, but... it's been pretty quiet.

Quiet is never a good sign, though I'm sure something will come to fruition eventually. To have so many people here as strangers to this world and not offer much insight is unprofessional but it's not say it wont present itself sooner than later.
