[For once, Loras looks quite pleased with himself. Despite the battles, the troubles going around with food shortages, supply issues, he seems optimistic.

Which, frankly, considering his normal demeanor at times, is probably a surprise. Still, he gives a smile, and a nod of his curly head to his wrist device.]

As some of you know, my King and [What is the word people use here?] partner, Renly Baratheon has been in Asgard for some time. Considering our...situation at home, and how society feels about us, we've decided to make the most of our stay here, and get married.

[He raises his chin, slightly, which is always a sign he's steeling himself, using his arrogance as a shield.]

I'm not about to let supply shortages, or some bloody war stop my wedding. [He doesn't care who he has to kill, he's getting married, damn it.] We haven't set a date, buy frankly, with everything going on here as of late, I suppose it should be sooner, rather than later.

You are all invited, of course; people always say good small events [It will have to be small, despite Renly's love of grand parties] help provide some relief during war.

[He's about to turn off his device, but feels the need to add--]

Oh and if a Stannis Baratheon shows up with no teeth tomorrow, you'll know that this is the reason.

[This is the best news Alice has seen happen in Asgard for a while. That is a small clap of excitement.]

This is the best thing I've seen in Asgard for quite some time. That sounds wonderful, Mr. Loras!

[After being in an asylum for ten years and living a sheltered life as a child, Alice doesn't really see anything wrong with this.]

I would be honored, Mr. Loras! I've never been to a wedding before.

They are usually grand events, even when they are for convenience. But as we actually wish to get married, it should be even better.

After everything in Asgard, such an event would be wonderful. It's a brave thing to do, especially in a war.

I truly don't know if I would consider it brave. This is the only place we can do it. There is no chance for it, at home.

Really? Was it because you were betrothed to others?

It's...complicated. But suffice to say, being in love with someone of the same gender is frowned upon.

I think that what counts if you care for one another. That is one of the better things about Asgard, it gives us liberation in things we cannot normally do.

For better or worse, I suppose.

But of course. Oh! Does that make you a prince or a king if you marry him?

[Loras starts to laugh.]

You know, I never thought about that. I suppose I would be a King, wouldn't I?

If that's the case, then I must admit, I never knew there could be two, but... if there's a queen, then I suppose so, yes.

My sister is a Queen already. I suppose it's fitting that I get a title myself, besides 'Ser'.

What does "Ser" mean?

It means that I'm a knight.

Oh, I see, like sir!

[It makes her think of King Arthur, although by now it's obvious he doesn't come from Britain. ]

Does it mean you were knighted at one point by a king or was it an order you were born into?

I was knighted. I worked hard to become what I am. It wasn't given to me--I don't believe in knights that simply have it given to them, without fighting for it.

Is that so? That's how it was done centuries ago in my queen's kingdom. It isn't that way any longer, but the honor is still presented to a select few by Her majesty.

But what do they do to receive that honor?

Nowadays, Her Majesty Queen Victoria honors those who have fought in wars or sometimes even academical achievements. Although once knighted, it becomes more than a title, than an actual role. I suppose it's been like that for a few centuries, ever since my country drifted away from wars and invasions, before I was born.

I can understand for people who have fought in wars--but for the rest...

[He shakes his head.]

It is a sad thing to hear that it can be used like that. Though in my world it has been bought before. It is shameful.

Bought is far more disgusting, I think. Perhaps I am a bit biased being that my father was an educator in his life. I don't see how on earth you can buy a title.

Your father would have been a Maester, then. We have different titles for his type.

Really? Is that observed for deans and headmasters?
