[It's quiet for several seconds until a remarkably accurate imitation of a cat's yowl comes across. Not meow, not purr, yowl. Thank goodness for anonymity, and hopefully no one in Odin heard that.]

[ Was that you, Miss Carnahan? It might be anyone on the first floor, the way the sound travels, but walking back from the kitchen, he startles nearly bad enough to drop the pile of pots in his arms. Which are being used for unrelated purpose, of course. A last minute fumble and save itself saves them all the trouble of tiresome explanations. ]
