4 Little Ghosts ☠ Video
[The feed turns on to Norman sitting inside of Hel's Welcome Hall's lounge with his long red scarf wrapped around his neck and a destroyed book on his lap. He's got a slightly nervous smile on, and his hands rub together in a worried manner before strumming along the book.]
Soooooo....who wants to talk about the afterlife?
[Yup, Norman's doing this. That's right, Asgard. There's a 11 year old who wants to talk about death. Although that wasn't the best way to start off this video, and he has to take a deep breath before continuing.]
I'm not actually talking about religious views, but what do you think happens when you die? Uh, I guess religious stuff works too if you really want to talk about that. I've heard a few things about how death works in different worlds, so I thought it would be interesting to hear from more people.
Also, I thought it would be good to talk about it since a lot of people seem to want to help get Freyr back. [Just going to add some not-bizarre reasoning to this.]
So yeah, if you want to say anything, go ahead. If you want to talk about it privately, you can put up a filter. [A pause.] And...if your world has ghosts or you believe in ghosts, that would be great to hear about too.

What happens to non-humans then?

They go back to the realms from which they were born, I expect. The ones who are specific, at least. But I'm not actually sure if all animals have anything like a soul.
no subject
Animals back home have souls. [He likes to pet ghosts of roadkill. Raccoons can be really sweet once they're dead.]
no subject
Not everything has a soul, where I am from.
no subject
Well, there are dragon here too, but still.]
O-oh... [Give him a second, he's not sure what to ask first.] So, each type of living thing that does have a soul goes to a specific realm for them?
no subject
If they have one, yes, I think that's more or less how it goes. But it's not as though there's a unicorn afterlife and a dragon afterlife, I don't think. Realms are...complicated.
[she shudders a little, thinking of the realm she had only just glimpsed]
They're places and not places. We're not made to comprehend them fully, I don't think.
no subject
Yeah...I don't think it's something we can understand either. I mean, I've seen the afterlife, but it's more like an in-between stage...Since ghosts don't just stay ghosts forever, I think. They have to move on sometime.
[Although that's also guesswork for him.]

I wonder if we have ghosts. Certainly, I haven't sensed one, but that doesn't mean they aren't there.

I don't know about ghosts, but two if my brothers have shoulder angels and devils. There was a nest in the cellar. The rest of us can't see them, but I certainly believe they are there.
no subject
I don't know anything about shoulder angels and devils. What were they like for your brothers? [He doesn't know how a nest could be involved either.]
no subject
Are they just...people, then? Or animals, too, I suppose.
They sit on their shoulders and advise them. Except I gather that sometimes it is rather difficult to tell which is which.
no subject
[A pause because...that sounds like something from a comedy tv show.] Did your brothers ever try to talk to them? Or make them leave?
no subject
[sophie's last name is gargamel. as in the smurf-hunting gargamel. comedy tv turned serious is in many respects her life]
Oh, they speak to them all the time, I think. But I don't think they'd ask them to leave.

[He knows that the Agatha he knows as the witch isn't her real self-- not the scared little girl his saw in his vision.]
Why not? I think it'd probably get really annoying.
no subject
[she tilts her head]
Perhaps they can be annoying. But it is also perhaps better than being alone and without counsel.
no subject
I guess that makes sense. It's like someone's watching over you...
no subject
Yes, I think that's how it is. It's a bit difficult to tell from outside it.
