[Day 195] AUDIO

[There's a very quiet shuffling in the background, punctuated by a distant 'baa' right before Naminé begins to speak.]

 Happy Holidays, everyone.

[She sounds to be in a fairly good mood.]

If anyone could suggest a place that I might be able to house my sheep while it's cold, I'd really appreciate it. It just seems wrong to leave her outside, and she's been in my room, but-- [Whoops, looks like she had to turn away from the bracelet for a moment.] Bo Peep, please don't do that...! [More clearly again,] ... but I've been thinking that it might not be the best place for her. Thank you-- Bo Peep, no! That's not food--

[Aaaaaaand there goes the feed.]

(( Naminé will also be going out today to hand out presents to those she's spoken to more than once. The post for that is here, and she may wish to discuss it in this post as well for the purposes of arranging meetings. ))

Oh! I might need to know a good place for my sheep too! I'm afraid she might eat everything in my house whenever I go out, but I don't want to lock her in a room or something. That would be really mean to do to her!

Maybe we could find a place for them to stay.

[Being sheep owners is hard and no one understands.] I don't think she understands when I reprimand her for eating certain things.

But if we have them together, we might be okay. Or at least we can let them graze together. We could take turns so we aren't both tied to watching over them.

I don't think so. It might just be basic instinct to feed oneself. I mean, paper is basically the same thing as grass.

She doesn't do much! Mostly eats and sleeps. But she's so soft and warm to hug. She reminds me of my lusus kind of.

Well, they sure like to graze on it, so I assume so.

She was very kind. She was very good to me. She liked to rest a lot and I guess she was pretty content with not doing too much. She stayed home a lot since I tended to excavate the ruins near my place a lot and getting down was a bit of a hassle.

[Well, her lusus died with her when she died, so it isn't something she's too sad about. That, and she doesn't think it was completely sad. She thinks despite the death, she was somehow still in good contact with her lusus.]

She was. I was told it's possible to bring them back here, but perhaps it's better if she rest in peace. Especially since people don't quite stay here and leave. I wouldn't want to bring her back here only to leave!

I think as long as I'm happy. The bond we had with our lusus was codependent, but I think there's truth in that they want us to be happy and vice versa. That's why they took us in. Not everyone wants to be pulled back from the dead. Sometimes it's better to finally rest in peace. Death isn't the end, after all.

I wouldn't really say it's selfless. It's just selfish to do something like that without really knowing how they actually feel about it. Bringing them back might upset them more than anything and it's kind of terrible to do it if they were happy where they were. [Like Jadesprite.]

I don't think most are usually given the chance to bring someone back from the dead, so it's hard to really say.

And grief is a very powerful emotion. You really can't completely call it selfish.

I think that might be because trolls really grieve over those kind of things! I never heard about funerals until I spoke to humans! Death was a lot more common for us, I think! Even as soon as we hatched, we had to survive the caverns to get chosen by our lusus!

I don't think that's a bad way to think. It makes sense to think that way, probably! I don't think you have to be worried about that, but I also think that being worried about it is too much wasted time. We have so much to do and worrying about this wastes more time!

Humans have very interesting ways of thinking.

It's alright! Sometimes you just need to let go!

Most of us would probably be a little weirded out to suddenly live in a different situation than we grew up in, as surprising as that sounds.

I guess that's how you should look at it. But bizarre isn't bad. [Aradia of course just thinks it's all exciting and new.] I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few who thinks of it in that way.

In general! I don't think many like change or abnormalities in their life, even though we're forced to adapt to them. Adapting doesn't necessarily mean willfully.
