We keep losing people. We did well against Thiazi but people still died, or have disappeared at some point.

( And that's sad. Sometimes they get mentioned publicly but not always. Sometimes it hurts too much )

They should be remembered. Everyone that's been here has helped us somehow to get ready for this war or has been in it. We should thank them, and hope that they're okay back home.

( She knows from talking to some that not everyone will be but hope and remembering a friend is nice )

Maybe the park? If someone could draw up candles or people just got together it would be nice. You could talk about them or just leave their name somewhere. Tomorrow, before curfew.

I'll be there early to wait.

There used to be a big memorial garden we put together. But... It's probably lost now. With all the fighting and damage to the city... ( anyway. she sighs. ) I'd be happy to help.

It would be nice if the garden was still there, or something like it could be done. Where was it?

You know, I wish I could remember. But I might need a little more time back here first. My memories are still kind of muddly with the ones from home. Plus, sleep lack. Starting a new place in the park would be best anyway.

You could try to find candles? Or at least just be there.

[She pauses, attempting a little smile.]

It's hard to wish they're still here, what with all the danger, but it's good to remind people it's okay. To miss them, I mean.

Not recently. ( But generally yes ) I think everyone here will have - someone they met here or someone from home.

People really grow attached to each other here, huh?

[ Glancing away, spoken as if this is something he's observed and not experienced. ]

Making friends is easy when you've all got the same goal. And it's less lonely.

Seems almost more lonely with this many folks disappearing.

It can be. But everyone's still working together. We're all there for each other even if we've never met some people here.

[ He's quiet for a moment, before: ]

Got some candles. Not a whole lot left over, but I have a few extra.

[ From when he'd surprised Fred a while back - but he'll leave those details out. ]

Thanks. ( And a pause, maybe a little hesitantly: ) You can light one too if you need to.

[ He waves one hand vaguely. ]

Kind of morbid to do myself, you know?

At least we can say we've never forgotten them, even if a candle isn't lit. We're thinking about them - it doesn't have to be morbid.

( Unless they are actually dead and then everything is even sadder. She knows this well )

[ He scrubs his hand against the top of his head, puffing his cheeks out in thought. ]

How long have you been here? If you don't mind me asking.

A few months. I've been here before but I don't remember it.

( Apparently that's happened more than once )

Full year by Asgard's standards. I mean, I've seen all the seasons, but I know they're shorter than our actual years. Kind of hard to wrap my head around that shit even after this long.

I'm not sure I can imagine what that feels like, although I probably won't get to see a year to realise it. At least it's all nearly over, as good and bad as that is.

Yeah, that's what they say - and I say I ain't never heard of a war ending as clean as this.

There's still time for that to change, but clean might be nice.

No arguin' against that. Just saying: I wouldn't bank on this being over for sure soon until we have some more proof is all.

What sort of proof? And is it wrong that you sound like you know what you're talking about?

Hell, I dunno. Maybe I'm just pessimistic. Or maybe I just think it's dangerous to get our hope up before we're sure of anything.

This isn't my first apocalypse. First one like this, yeah, so maybe I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Yeah. Won every time so far. Gotta cross my fingers and hope that record holds through. [ And then he'll address that first remark of hers. ] Hey, you're young, aren't you? And it seems like you're doin' plenty here. You still in school?

Yeah. ( Not that that stops any manner of danger. She's seen her fair share even if it hasn't been apocalyptic ) And there wasn't really a choice about doing something here. It's either help or die and lose everything.

I doubt it could hurt, although it might not be the same without some tea to hand.

There could be tea. I hadn't though of it.

I could make some, I suppose. It might not be as good as some of the sorts back home, but it could at least be something to have.

I think people might enjoy any kind of tea. It'll still be good.

How many people might be there?

Hmm, I dunno... I don't think you have to be that gloomy to think back to them.

It doesn't have to be gloomy. We're just thinking about friends. I know you usually light a candle for someone that's died but maybe this time it can just be to say thanks.

Oh, am I wrong? I guess "thanks" doesn't have to be for something in the past, yeah... It's just the way you said it to start with.
