... ugh.

[Ellie sounds... out of it. Not herself. Distracted, like she's been hit a few too many times in the head, or is somehow drugged up. She's finding her way but she's slow, like she's having to think about every word before she says it.]

So. Question -- how many of you guys have been in two places at once?

I think I was back in my... my world. For a while.

But I was here, too.

Anybody?

Trust me. I know. She has no idea what's coming for her, and she's already weakened herself so much. It's more after she's dead that I'm thinking about.

That's going to be tricky.

When you change the rules of the game, you go off the map and nobody knows the rules. Anything is possible, but that can be good or bad. Killing her? It changes the rules.

...but so did her taking Tyr prisoner. At least, that's my take.

...fair. I'm talking about something else anyway, I think, something that I'm starting to think is out of our hands. We should probably do what you're saying, and focus on surviving. Let them deal with their own shit in the end.

Thiazi was meant to be the one who started everything over when Ragnarok ended, after all the others were dead. Someone will have to take her place, and how that will play has changed. I don't know yet...

But it's their problem, not ours.

Really... it kind of is. You're right there. And, in the end, we're just getting through it.

We're doing what we have to. Odin's not necessarily good, but Thiazi's a psycho who's put the souls of others beneath the things she's done. Nothing good comes of what she's pulled. Ever.

The pieces will just have to get picked up.

I've got good luck when it comes to betting. [Because she cheated, usually.] I might worry, but I'm not going to give up hope now.

...or just rank stubbornness. That's more my style.

Pretty willing to bet on your stubborn ass too. Personally, it's sad, but some of our most competent ones these days are younger than half the others. But, hey, can't knock it, can I?

Raw, unfiltered crazy is how I've taken down things four times my size. It's what convinced a group of us to throw a dragon at a god. Yeah, age's got nothing on the power of crazy.

Literally, no. Conan was the most experienced body controller around back then. We gave him a stamina potion and Feferi boosted his power to the max, then we snuck in behind enemy lines and he managed to hold it for... maybe a few seconds before he was losing consciousness. It was long enough to turn it around and make it blow fire at Thiazi.

She obliterated it and sent it back at us. It's how I got my armor.

Heh, we weren't laughing then. Things were desperate and we had to whittle down the number of dragons they had on their side. It was the only way we stood much of a chance.
