Where I'm from there're lot of boys who've left a bit of their brain on the battlefield. Good respectable men. Men who now lose their senses from time to time...believe they're whizzbangs...Smash things...Scare people.

Frightening thing when the brain goes.

What i'm getting at is...what exactly will this place do to the brain if we're 'ere too long?

Could've just asked to speak to whoever's been here longest. Which war was yours?

I'm not sure, but it probably won't be good, no matter how you look at it.

As far as permanent stuff? Not really sure. But there have been times when this place has caused some temporary mental anguish.

I was here for about a year, got sent home and came back in January, so yeah. Several times things have manifested themselves as our worst nightmares. A bunch of people turned into zombies once.

There are a lot of people who have rather fragile minds, it can be interesting to see who easily they crumble.

That does depend. Do you mean emotionally, or actual detrimental physical changes?

You adjust. You accept. Eventually coming to know new Travellers becomes tiring.

Unless you are referring to the physical. In that case, everyone grows older all the same.

I think you can imagine that for yourself.

That would depend entirely on what your standards for that are. I could say I have adjusted, and another could look at me and say I am lying.

In that case you would certainly have your hands full. There are a number of different opinions on that. After all this is a world of gods and magic.
