Heh, [The sarcasm was making her smirk.] I actually meant anyone in Freyr, but he is more helpful than most by a decent margin. I'm glad to see he's still trying. So, this someone from home or someone you just met here that needs a set of wheels?

Anyway, I'm still learning which House has what skills. You sound like you know what you're talking about. Care to fill me in?

Sure. I know all of the houses by now. I could just list them off if you wanted, but why don't we start with what you want to know first.

I know that the people Gods bring over are given powers that correspond somehow to that of their God, right? And they're stripped of any abilities unique to their world... even if they're not necessarily powers. [ which is total bullshit, by the way... ]

I don't know anything about these Gods or their stupid tree world system, but it seems like everyone just believes them and I really don't get why.

Yeah, if they're not human, most of us are made closer to human. They might be just a little more than average, a little exotic. Honestly, it's because our magic and powers don't mix well with this world. You wouldn't like what happens when you use power from your world here.

[That was one way to ruin someone's first kiss, having your head explode in their face.]

As for believing them, I've been here more than a year. You pick up reasons to either trust them, or be willing to work with them. You want to know about those, or house powers?

Yeah. [She paused for a second, weighing her thoughts and then shrugged.] My head exploded, right in front of someone I liked. It... was kind of a mess.

Anyway, let's start with house powers, though. I'm in Freya now. They have either the power to make a person like them and want to do anything for them, or like me they can drain power from somebody with a touch... or more with a kiss. If they're strong enough, they can kill with a kiss.

You don't know awkward. It was her first kiss. [She snorted.] And they brought me back to life afterwards, but if you hear a scratch in my voice... that's from having died a lot of times here. It doesn't all come back right. Whatever my head looks like, pieces aren't all there.

[She shook her head.] can doesn't mean will. I'm not going to drain you unless you give me permission, or you're trying to kill me, and half of Freya can't do the kiss of death thing. ...not that I'm trying to get you to kiss me as some sort of trick or anything.

You take things too literally.

...what do you mean they bring you back to life but not all there? The Gods can resurrect people?

A lot of times, yes. [Underdeveloped sense of humor with a really dark edge here.] And yes, they can. Would have thought you'd heard that already. Eventually, if you die too many times parts won't work quite right.

Hm. I see... Thanks for the info.

I think I'll just try not to die, either way.

Good policy as a rule. Let's see... Sigyn can control plants or heal people. Most of them are healers though, and there aren't many who I know that are powerful at controlling plants. Jades one of the only strong ones. The other healers are in Heimdall, but they have to take the wounds on themselves to do it, so there's serious limits. They're either sharing their energy with other people, or they're taking their wounds.

Sounds like there's a pretty good mix of both offensive and defensive or healing powers around here.

[samantha_grey]

That's sort of the idea. Everyone's got something to work with, and in teams it can be really nasty. I, or a Heimdall, could charge someone up to give them longer or maybe even a little boost in power. Thors are fast or strong, so they could protect people while they try and get something set up. Odins can use fire or ice.

It's all built around team tactics really, or at least that's how it feels.

A good concept. There's a lot of room for error with the execution then, considering the vastly different levels of experience and different backgrounds. If the common goal was compelling enough... But how many people really feel that way? I haven't been around long enough to gauge, but it seems to be a mixed bag.

[samantha_grey]

It's mixed, but honestly, the people here are a lot more desperate than they like to let on. They needed help, and we were all they had. So, I don't think they really have a clue how to organize random strangers that they have trouble holding onto in their world.

[She sighed.] It's sort of a clusterfuck, really. Anyone, though, who's been here long enough to remember the plagues or dragons that the other side sent, they usually have an easier time being on Asgard's side.
